Who get's in?

The finalists:

Morten Andersen
Jerome Bettis
Tim Brown
Don Coryell
Terrell Davis
Tony Dungy
Kevin Greene
Charles Haley
Marvin Harrison
Jimmy Johnson
John Lynch
Orlando Pace
Junior Seau
Will Shields
Kurt Warner

Pace is a lock, IMHO.

Seau too.

Morten Andersen is the best kicker I've ever seen. and it's time they put a kicker in after finally putting a punter in last year. He'd get my vote.

That's about it. There's no "superstars" on this list, aside from Pace. A lot of guys on the list could eventually get in, but not sure about this year- esp. Harrison, Warner, and maybe Bettis.

Jimmy Johnson was 80-64 as an NFL head coach. Not sure that merits HoF.

Don Coryell was a 114-89-1 as an NFL head coach. Tremendous innovator and first head coach to focus on passing over rushing, but not sure he gets in now either.

What's your take?

Jimmy has been on a campaign big time to get in especially with a football life.

Jimmy Johnson has changed the NFL forever. His Walker trade, implementing speed , way they drafted, replacing Landry is way more impressive than Dungy being black and beating Rex Grossman in the super bowl

Pace, Warner, Seau, Harrison, Bettis.

I do wonder if the shooting allegations against Harrison from a few years ago will influence any decision to put him in, because he definitely has the statistics to be almost a lock.

ETA: Tim Brown should already be in.

Harrison,

Only thing that is hurting Harrison is the shooting incidents. When he retired he had the 2nd most catches in NFL history. Gonzales has since passed him but he is first ballot worthy IMO.

Most consecutive seasons with at least 6 touchdown receptions (11) – shared with Jerry Rice, Don Hutson

Most consecutive seasons with at least 10 touchdown receptions (8)

Most consecutive seasons with at least 11 touchdown receptions (4)-tied with Lance Alworth, Art Powell

Second-fastest player to achieve 100 receiving touchdowns.
etc

Don Coryell changed things more than either of them. He turned the vertical passing game into more than just an AFL gimmick.

How bout them Cowboys...

So is it this type of witty humor and logic that allows one to ascend to the throne of site admin? Or do you have a vast array of other skill sets about which we are all unaware….

I would be willing to ignore Johnson's 1-15 record with the Cowboys in his first year…that would make his overall record better…but he was "meh" with the Dolphins and his longevity wasn't very long overall as a coach.

I think Morten should get in. It is his time.

I say keep it. He intentionally 76er'd that team. Didn't even try to be competitive. If he doesn't intentionally blow up that team, start two rookie quarterbacks, and trade away his best player, he doesn't have his championship seasons later. It's part of the process.

I lost track of the admin list around here.

but JJ is a HoFer. He made the Dolphins significantly better when he was there, but Dan the Man had the Achilles injury, which effected the record.

Considering the dynasty he helped build in Dallas, I'd say absolutely.

Well, I understand why. And to be totally honest, I don't think he should get in anytime soon. If Tim Brown, Andre Reed, and Art Monk had to wait, Harrison can wait.

If anyone want to read some stuff about the shooting incidents: LINK

It's kinda amazing that Harrison managed to avoid any charges.
