That was the one of the least douchey things I read in the article.

Well that isn't hard to achieve

Just cause they concede doesn't mean you gotta go good-good. If I think he might miss that par putt and it will get in his head, I make him putt it in the NCAA championships.

I agree. It was clever and worked. It was still a douche move. I don't know Peter though, so maybe he deserved it or maybe they had been going back and forth in the round doing that. Usually you gain some consistency with your opponent with "good-goods" or making each other putt things out and maybe Peter went against what had been happening on previous holes, and not Patrick.

Still, I have played a lot of competitive golf and something like that has never happened to me or when I was present. Meaning, the first guy is given a longer putt then turns around and doesn't give his opponent a shorter putt. Granted it was never for NCAA titles.

I think we should focus on the rest of the article more anyway.

Justine is one hot piece of ace.

Believe me, I should know.

How well-liked was he on the Ryder Cup team? I'm sure guys didn't mind him as much, considering he was the best player.

Granted I only talked with him for 10 minutes or so but he was extremely polite and jovial.
Of course, we all can put on fronts. I think he is just too competitive and has always been successful at the one thing that really matters to him; golf. I can see how others on tour would be rubbed the wrong way though. He will never be a fan or player favorite but he'll probably end up with a great career and no friends.

When you're the man, it's lonely at the top.

People didn't like young Jack either.

FIFY and that is depressing to think about.

He is young, maybe he'll mature, but he has been a dick his whole life so I doubt it.

Agreed. It was an interesting excerpt but with no context clues on that match kinda makes it hard to really get a read on that particular putt.

Being a douche can help in match play. I prefer conceding putts for mind games compared to not conceding them. Though making them putt some is always fun too.

Ehhhhh Tiger has plenty of friends and still close with college teammates. He is a competitive dick, but he doesn't alienate everyone who cares about him (family included). Obviously his ex-wifey is the exception (but they are still close friends apparently)

One thing for sure though, I want him on my Ryder Cup team. He is a competitor.

Ditto.

I don't want to piss off the opponent and I want them to think I'm confident. Also, they could pay it forward later on when you secretly are terrified of a downhill 2-footer that breaks a foot right.

100%.

He seems like he wants to beat someone more than beating the golf course. That's why he's so good at match play.

No doubt the kid is talented and thrives in match play.

I want him on the Ryder Cup team too, but I want him staying in a different hotel so he doesn't drop a load of dynamite into the team chemistry

Unless he has a complete mental meltdown or gets caught cheating again.

Both very possible

Let's be honest, there's no way he's cheating on the PGA tour.
He's got 4 wins under 25, and probably gonna win a major in the next year or so.

People didn't like jack when he was beating up on Arnie, and look how that worked out.
Who cares what this kid did in college? I watch him to see power through the slot.
Don't care about his college teammate's feelings.
Don't care about his coach at GA.
Don't care about his tramp wife.
Don't care about his addiction to carbs.
Torque and horsepower are what I like.
PatBaw delivers on both fronts.
