I always wondered why the T2 terminator didn't make a spear and throw it or split into multiple midget sized terminators.
He could attack from multiple directions.

That would be taking off a piece of himself. It would be like you throwing your arm at someone. He doesn't regenerate.

While the T-1000 can assimilate separated parts of itself, I'm sure there's some contrived reason he can't implement Scruffy's good suggestions.

Saw the trailer on an IMAX 3D screen waiting to see the Hobbit a few weeks ago - actually looked pretty damn cool.

He can recombine assuming he gets the part back. What if he misses and the other person is able to grab the spear and freeze it or melt it or lock in some sort of special box? He can afford to lose a few parts but that's a risky strategy.

in other words the ability to split up and attack with multiple forms is limited to having that microchip in it.
If each multiple of T2 has a microchip then I guess it is conceivable.
