I'm in to the 25th minute of this call, I've been transferred 5 times. The last time to technical support for internet outages.

Nice try mother frickers, but I'm not giving in!

Go back to billing. Tell them you are recording the call. 10 minutes max.

Just tell the next person that you are moving permanently out of their coverage area. 3 minutes and they'll have you all set.

Never call if you really mean to quit. Only call if you want them to lower the bill.

You have to return the box and remote in order to complete the cancellation and stop billing so you might as well just bring it in and drop it off and cancel in person.

Did this a year ago. Really liberating to walk in the store with a box full of their shite and pay them the final prorated amount I owed them. XBMC. FTW.

It's really simple. All of these companies are only afraid of one thing, the PSC. A 25 minute hold time to cancel is beyond ridiculous. If they give you crap about canceling then just drop those 3 little letters and they will do just about anything you ask right away.
