Is Phares still open? What about Baileys?

Pretty much it. Ruffino's is kicking arse in that same building. Cochon...if you're going to specialize in boudin, cracklin and beans & "hot sausage", you better bring your A game when surrounded by Billy's, Johnson's and Earl's.

Up until a few years ago they only had 1 location. This will only be #4.

But the board of directors of this board consider it a chain.

No idea about Phares. I think Bailey's is still open for business

This isn't at all what I think the N.O. location "specialized" in. Was there something different going on in Laffy?

I would have guessed possibly the new Costco shopping area. But if it's opening by the end of Summer then not sure where it'll be. Maybe Parc Lafayette?? That place is growing.

2 minutes from the office. That would be perfect.

bump for an old thread

update on Drago's .... the Parc Lafayette location appears off the table since developer Glenn Stewart took to long to close the deal. Dragos has already lost $50,000 in architectural fees since they previously planned to open in the La Marquise bldg (new Petroleum Club bldg)

Several new areas near River Ranch are being looked at. Target date for opening pushed back to Thanksgiving at earliest.

Wouldn't be surprised if Drago's bought/opened in the Johnny Carino's site since it closed down several months ago. Small talk of Sugar Mill Pond Area and the new COSTCO location currently under development

FWIW - Phares has closed down with a sign on door thanking guests for a great year, see you next season ... ??? Other than crawfish places, never seen a restaurant close doors with anticipation of opening back up for next season. Oysters can't be there only menu items

will post up more news once learned

He probably decided to focus on his new place on Grand Isle, Hurricane Hole. When they made the change in menu and did away with oysters and some pretty good dishes it had to kill them quickly. The expressed reason for that change was good seafood is just too hard to get on a consistent basis.
OH Really??

Even when Phares was open, the place always looked closed except for some words on the marquis. Never been.

Agree with that. The food was always very good. The location is terrible, just like Shang Hai Moon (upscale Chinese) just around the corner which used to be Sonny's BBQ. Nothing can make it there.

But the daiquiri place right in between outlasts them all
