The house was built for a fella in a wheelchair so the shower is huge. 7ft by 7 ft.

I don't want a fixed position bench as they are too hard to clean around.

I want something that is comfortable to sit on naked, wont feel cold as hell on may butt, durable in the wet environment, and looks good.

I was thinking of something like this recycled plastic bench but with a thin closed cell foam padding on top with marine grade vinyl covering.

Teak. It won't be cheap but you only have to buy it once. Or plastic like you mentioned but I'd skip the padding.

My parents had a teak one in their steam room for years.

I don't like to think about what went on in there before my time....

Were there teeth marks in the wood?

those slats look like they would be uncomfortable on you bare bottom wick.

I would think the slats would be fine if sanded well and the corners rounded...

Something comfortable to sit on naked in the shower?
Kate Upton, obviously.

Failing that, teak.

What's the bench really for?

I've had this one for about 7 years and it still looks new. Its very sturdy if mounted properly and folds down easily when you need the space.

you've met my wife.

For real my shower was built for a fella in a wheelchair so it is 7'x7'. It is nice to unwind in a hot shower at the end of the day and the wife and I will sometimes shower together and talk about the day. Wife also wants the bench for shaving her legs.

Although it would be pretty cold why not build a built in one with tile that matches the shower. Frame it in plywood, secure it with anchors, and tile it.

That's what's in our shower.
