And why does that matter? Can you only sue when there are injuries now? I must have missed that supreme court decision.

You asked the difference, and I told you.

A man getting drunk and wrecking costing his life or the lives of fellow drivers is a wholke different category than him spending money.

frick Casinos, those scumbags don't allow people to legitimately calculate their chances against the house and force people to stop playing when they "win too much."

Hope this guy gets everything back...

I am not a gambler, so I don't really care in the end.

People understand the risks when they walk in the doors. Hell, when they get into their vehicles to drive to the establishment.

If you need a true outlet for your rage, when it comes to profit and the well being of an individual, take it up with the tobacco industry.

Let's change the hypothetical a bit: Say the guy is traveling on business and has access to an open line of credit. Gets drunk and blows through $500k of company funds at the craps table. His (now former) employer clearly isn't going to get any money out of him. Do they have a claim against the casino?

Are physical injuries the only thing you can collect damages on in NV? I don't know. I would think the bar is either liable or not. If a drunk crashed through your casino and caused $50 million in damages and the bar was shown to be negligent pursuant to state law, you and your business partners would certainly sue them, would you not?

worst part about it is, if it goes before a jury, they will see it as "the big, bad, casino took advantage of the little guy" and will likely rule in his favor...

my bet is, the casino will settle and write the debt off just to keep it out of court...

My bet is there is plenty of video of this guy from that night. Not sure if it will help or hurt his/their case.

No.

If they were foolish enough to put this individual in charge of access to the account, it's on them. And it's on him to give the funds back or go to jail or both. Probably seizing his assets.

Our old governor was a fan of taking money that wasn't his and heading to casinos.

Read up on Brian_Molony and then see "Owning Mahowny", a very good movie based on him:

The casino was successfully sued by his employer, who he was embezzling from.

I have no idea about Nevada law. Thing is this certain man didn't crash physically into anything. He continued playing, drinking and losing. It's all on him for not being an adult and understanding his limits.

Yes, it's why the drinking age and gambling age is set to the maximum age required by law.

No one is forced.

I'm gonna give you two options. You can have the money and hammer, or you can walk outta here. You cannot have both

No they don't. They give you great comps and bring you back as often as you will to give their money back. You are playing adult games. Grow up.

The question I have is did the plaintiff "measure" how drunk he was? Documented?
