My family lived in Hoover at the time. My pop said it was so cold that when he pissed the next morning, there was ice in the toilet!

I was at LSU at the time and my girlfriend (now wife) was coming into visit. I was worried about her traveling because of all the doomsday reports the news was giving. I don't recall it getting that bad, I think it was windy as frick and raining with a little bit of sleet. Perfect weather to stay in get drunk and have stunt sex.

I was living in Tampa at the time. Didn't seem so bad there. But shortly after I moved to GA, and all everyone talked about was the blizzard of 93.

...and nobody in your entire family thought to maybe use the fire to make the cold food warm...

Thought it was 1994. The locals in Memphis always talk about the blizzard they had back then.

I don't remembet anything about this; therefore, it didn't happen.

94 was an ice storm in Memphis and N. MS The whole power grid was taken out by up to 6" of ice in places. There were some areas that didn't have power for a month. The metal TVA main grid power transmission lines wilted from the weight of the ice and the local power lines were wiped out by the weight of the ice or falling trees and limbs.

I remember winter of 1995, snow and ice in La, I was living in BR, but stuck in North La with my ex. I cannot remember the 1993 storm though.

The closing down at night, including walking through the large chapel and locking up and then walking back through it with no lights on was a bit unnerving when we had bodies in house.
My grandma worked at a funeral home and when I was young and she'd pick me up from school or something, I'd be there with her till she closed at night. I was so fricking scared looking down dark hallways and being alone, I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there
If you remember that plane crash in the early 80's in Kenner, they had a lot of the bodies from that one. She walked me through where they were doing their thing and asks me "Are you scared of seeing dead bodies?" and my 8 yo tough guy self said not at all I saw so many people and I vividly remember seeing chests peeled back and lots of body juice

Was there, shelved 3' snow drifts just north of B'ham. Was insane. Temp stayed below 15 degrees for three days for the high temp.

3 inches of snow in parts of north FL. My grandma had over 30 inches in Chattanooga.

I remember it well. I was a junior in HS. We had easily a foot+ of snow in Atlanta, and with the wind we had drifts 3 feet tall. Luckily we knew it was coming and were all at the house.
I also remember Atlanta's infamous SnowJam '82. We had gone to my great aunt's funeral and the snow started falling right as it ended. By the time we got to the interstate to head home, they were starting to ice over and there were wrecks everywhere. We turn around and slowly work our way back to my grandmother's house. By the time it gets dark, most of my aunts/uncles/cousins end up there too. I think there were about 15-20 of us in a small, 2 bedroom, 1 bath house for the night.

Pretty sure it snowed in BR that night. If it was a Friday night? Also seems like it was the same year the sec bball tourney was in Lexington and my parents were snowed in.

We had over waist deep snow up in North Alabama that did not melt for almost a week. Power was out almost the whole time. If not for ones of these....
... we'd have been in trouble. We put up blankets to block off the living room where the heater was mounted and it stayed nice and warm in there. We stashed all our perishables in coolers that we buried in the snow just outside the back door. We made the best of it and actually weathered the storm pretty well.
