Phones? I'm much more bothered by the popcorn munching and the sound the plastic candy bags make.

It is rude and very annoying. The theater had packed houses for Sniper. Not one empty seat. Maybe this is why the rude people are noticed more? The previews tell you to turn off cells so many times.

I'm a pretty reserved guy... but I will tell someone to STFU or turn their phone off in a theater.

Almost equally annoying to me is the barrage of commercials and clips telling people to silence their phones. AMC is the f'n worst about this.

There were more commercials than I ever remembered at a theater. One long commercial for carmike theaters was how a guy puts his arm around a woman.

Then when they turn the sound up to DEAFness is when they first SAY PLEASE turn your cell phones off, now. The lady next to me was on her phone checking FB but no noises and not bright. I was realclose to saying, really you have to tell everyone you are here, and what movie? And then say, I hope someone robs your house for advertising this.

But she put it away as previews started.

If there's a movie that I HAVE to see in the theater, I wait a few weeks, and will go at an odd showing time. I always get the seat I want with peace and quiet

I remember going to a movie once and a bunch of teens sitting in the row in front of me wouldn't be quiet so I propped my feet up in between their seats and next to their heads. A douche move on my part no doubt, but it worked/

Have you ever been to an all black movie? Try going sometime when it's packed. It's a funny experience

My black buddy told me about the stereptypes and brought me to see ride along and man it was funny as shite observing.

Almost every line the people were talking back to the screen and laughing uncontrolably. One guy ran around high fiving everyone.

Pretty funny

Cell phones and teenagers are two of the reasons I quit going to the theater.

I don't really understand the cell phone use in the theater, but I'm not married to my phone. I turn my off, or just leave it in the car when I go to the theater. I go to the theater to escape for a couple of hours.

That said, cell phone use in the theater by others doesn't bother me as long as it's on silent. We went and saw American Sniper last night and there was a 50ish couple a few rows in front of us acting like teenagers with their hands all over each other. Pretty sure she was giving him a hand job.

Saw Lady In The Water at the theater that used to be on Siegen, which was mostly a black theater. My group was as white as it gets. Black people behind us were talking quite loudly at the movie, so my friend said in the whitest voice imaginable, "Stop talking, please." That stopped the talking for a short while before they simply could not contain themselves and began shouting at the movie again. My friend had to do it again. Entirely different culture. Our fault for going to their theater - not surprised it went out of business though since the white patrons were mostly driven off by that kind of behavior.
