A first for me! I thought it was Farrah from Teen Mom but NOPE. Anyone ever heard of this girl? And why did it take till 2015 for this to happen?

I don't know, but I just watched the video for "Better than you left me" and apparently it took a black female singer to perform a country song like it should sound like.

Pop singer with a waltz beat and steel guitar.

She's good but let's not pretend she's reinventing the wheel here.

Saving Country Music had a piece on her, saying that she brings the waltz beat back. Well yeah, but it still isn't exactly "country" just not hick-hop bro country.

What I meant by it taking until 2015 for this- is it's not everyday that you have CMT on and see a colored country female artist. From my years being alive, it's never happened and I think it's a great thing :) Odd but great lol

Thanks for sharing. She has a great sound. She definitely isn't old school country, but she has a better sound than most of the garbage on Country radio!

Doesn't fit the formula. She needs a tattoo, a bonfire and a half assed rap verse in there.

I was trying to be respectful of her race. I didnt want to describe her as black bc it could have been taken the wrong way. Sorry, not sorry.

"Colored" is not appropriate when describing black/African American people.
