Good thing you will be able to spend the extra $20 a month when you are looking for a new job.

People dont realize that we were on this same exact path in 2009-2010 ......Lots of business were on the verge of shutting down, when BP OIL SPILL..saves the lives of many people and many businesses.
We never felt the full brunt of an oil collapse not only because of the BP Spill, but also because of Hurricane Katrina. Both of those events masked the real situation that we would have been in.
While the rest of the country was suffering through a recession, we were creating spillionaires down here and our economy was booming.

Any chance this drives the economy into another recession?
This will have the opposite effect. More money to the average consumers will boost other industries. Local economies will feel the pain though.

Wrong again. Service companies are the first to have rates slashed when this happens

I don't like any industry cutting jobs. Our business has survived the collapse of the construction industry. It's been tough, but we made it. If you lose your job, i hope you find work in something else.
But one fact does remain. The country/world has been held hostage by the O&G industry for 7+ years. Everyday workers will find empathy with little to no sympathy.
