Will great recruiting overcome coaching/player development?

That seems to be Miles and Allevas bet. If X's and O's was the objective, Shoop would have been hired and changes would have been made to the offensive staff and special teams.

LSU has one problem. Fix the QB spot and the whole team is better. And I'm hopeful because with the great talent around them they don't have to be great. Average play and we're competing for titles. LSU recruits and develops well enough at every other spot.

Once everything is finalized with my avatar we are all set on offense
Jennings transfers closer to home (GA State) and Harris is #2

Where is this player development myth coming from?
There are 3 units on a defensive football field:
1) DL- Oregeron, widely regarded as one of the top DL coaches in the country. History of physicality with his men who attack the qb.
2) LB- Steele, probably can't find a guy including Chavis who has a better pedigree of making All-Americans. Pro and College experience
3) DB- Corey Raymond, since he has been here our pass D has perennially been top 3 in efficiency. They are physical at the line of scrimmage.
So EXPLAIN the frick to me how we have to overcome anything? The only question mark next year is if Steele can make the proper in game adjustments. THATS IT.

How in the hell do you "Miles and LSU can't develop players" types explain that LSU leads the nation with the most current NFL players?? The notion that we arent developing players is the most idiotic thing said on the rant period.

Agreed, D-line and LB play should take big steps up with these new hires. DB will be solid as always. Recruiting and player development defensively shouldn't be an issue.

Another person that probably had no idea Shoop even existed before the coaching search

I've said for years we've won many games on talent alone and not coaching/development.

Good to know that you aren't anyone to actually take serious then.

How does hiring a DC impact this--at least with regard to the offensive staff?

True I forgot about that one lol

They develop players too early, that is why we lose them to NFL. If you are talking about AJ, he should not be on the field because the talent is not there.

Oh really??? Well if they're "developed" so well here why don't we have more hardware to show for it.
I'd take a few less guys going to the NFL and a little bit more success while they're actually on the campus.
DB's/RBs aside very few other position players seem to be getting the coaching they need to help this team.

If they're not developed why are so many rookies killing it in the NFL?
We need solid WB play. Simply put.

No, the offense has to be fixed period. You aren't going to beat other teams with similar talent with our offense.

Explain how a team can have all those NFL caliber players and win no Championships.
Currently, LSU football has declined to 8-5 and OUT of the Top 25 polls............
