5 best rap albums IMO
Nas-Illmatic-the perfect rap album. Short, smooth and great lyricism
Outkast-Aquemeni-at their peak. Lyrics, production and song structures are top of the line
Blu/Exile-Below the Heavens-close 2nd to Illmatic in perfection. Great lyrics, excellent production and just so smooth from song to song
Raekwon-Only Built for Cuban Linx-the definition of NY/East Coast rap. This is what East Coast rap is supposed to sound like. Gritty, hard hitting production and lyrics that reflect the lives of the people its intended for
Dr Dre-The Chronic-completely changed the sound of rap and raised the bar for production. Gets the extra bonus for being Snoops official rise to stardom. He was the king of rap in this era.
