Car engine blew & I have a question about getting rid of it

I have a 2002 Ford Escape. I owe around $4,000 on it. The engine blew. According to the garage a different engine will cost $3,200 or $4,300. The blue book on a running '02 Escape in fair condition is barely $2,000. I'd like to cut my losses and get rid of it. I could get $300 from a salvage yard but I can't sell it unless the bank releases the lien and they won't do that until the loan is paid off. I don't have the money to pay off the loan so what am I supposed to do with it?

How do you owe 4k on an 02 escape?

Take it to Ferguson, MO & set it on fire.

Park it in a Riverside monitored parking lot.

How did you get so upside down on a 2002 Ford Escape?

Trade it in on a new/used car, finance it and roll over balance into your new note. You will be upside down as a mf'er in the new loan, but if you can't pay it off now, don't know if you have any other real option.

Yeah, not one of my better decisions. I only bought it 2 1/2 years ago and it had relatively low mileage on it.

Samething happened to my wife, it sat ing the driveway, we paid it off, and I haggled with the auto graveyard on a price and a tow...we salvaged it for 1000.00 and I never looked back

Yea I'm trying to wrap my mind around owing that much on a 12 year old vehicle. Subtle troll?

Find a used engine and find a different garage. Getting it switched out should be closer to $1200.
