yeah find a decent used engine and throw it in that thing. you need to drive it for at least a couple more years, because clearly finances aren't one of your strong points.

Did you finance like $8k on a 10 year old escape? assuming you put at least some money down you paid like $10k?

find a dealership doing a promotion for a minimum trade in value on anything you can push pull or drag in.

My girlfriend had a 2007 Mustang when I met her. She bought it before we met, I had no hand in that dumbass decision...

I constantly had to fix the car, and the engine blew with less than 100K miles on it. This was with regular maintenance, at least in the years I was around... It was a piece of shite, plain and simple.

I put a used engine in it myself, and traded it in.

I paid 10K for it. Like I said, relatively low mileage. Yeah I probably overpaid but hardly the worst deal anyone's ever gotten on a car .Who expects the engine to blow at 95k miles.

You tried a real life simulation of MJ2's problem yesterday, didn't you? You found another '02 Escape and you had him drive 50 and you were the one doing 100 right?

So where do I get a deal on a used engine? And I can't just drop it in myself. I just called another garage & the guy tells me he's doing an '03 Escape right at the moment and the best bet is to get it from Ford directly and it'll cost me around $5,500.

I haven't had any finance issues. Ford issues, yes.

got an F-250 with 130k miles on it, other than filters, fluids, and tires, the only mechanical issue so far has been to change a gasket on the fuel filter/water separator

Go to your nearest high school and see if their shop class wants to work on it.

I will. You allowing a car owned by a girl that likely didn't maintain it well to base your opinion of an entire brand is laughable at best.

You do realize whatever brand this girl owned likely would have similar issues, yes?

Diesel?

I will admit Ford has a great Diesel engine. If it is not a diesel, you are luckier than any other ford owner, I have known recently.

You don't even have a clue what you're talking about based on this post. Ford known for their diesel lately?

yep, forgot to mention that, only complaint is that the leather used for the interior has got to be lowest grade cheap shite they could find though, has to be conditioned constantly, and I've had quite a few vehicles with leather in them

No, actually I don't. The car had the best maintenance I could provide for most of the 100K.

She bought the car in '09 with approx. 20K on it. when we met in 2010 it had approx. 35K. I maintained it myself from then until last year when it blew up at approximately 95K.

I cannot vouch for what the car went through prior to 35,000miles, but since then it was properly cared for.

This is not the only ford experience I have had. I have many friends that own/owned fords over the years. I can say they seem to have more issues than competitor brands.

did anyone mention a year model?

you seem to be really defensive of your fords... own a dealership or something?
