Broncos QB Peyton Manning played Sunday’s Divisional Playoff loss and the past month of the season with a torn right quad, per two sources.

Looked like something was up.

yea, figured he had to be hurt.
The way he was throwing was definitely not just "fatigue".

Serious question, can your quad cause you to not be able to put velocity on the ball?

Would make a whole lot of sense. He really hasn't looked himself lately.

Always easy to pick the non athletes out. A pulled quad makes walking difficult. An actual tear severely affects any athletic movement.

Absolutely

LMAO at all the people that said he needs to retire because his arm is done. You don't go from tearing up the league to not being able to throw in 1 game, which is what happened about 6 weeks ago

I forget which analyst made the point but he said that when Peyton hurt his neck, he had to change his throwing motion in order to get more power from his legs.

I'll believe it if he comes back next year and can actually put velocity on the ball.

I played college baseball, but thanks. I am aware a pulled quad makes walking difficult I am just not familiar with how much your lower body affects throwing velocity.

i wonder if that happened in the San Diego game where he tried to block Donald Butler close to the goal line.
he immediately ran off the field into the tunnel.
it was just before the half.

He went from playing really well this year to going very conservative the last 4-5 weeks of the season.

I've never played organized football in my life, much less quarterback. How would I know what goes into it?
Posted on 1/12/15 at 10:06 am to LNCHBOX
What he meant to say was while in college he went to the gym with people from his Math 0092 class and shot some hoops.

A lot of a strong throwing motion requires strength from the upper legs to set your feet and help propel your upper body on the throwing side forward. I've never had this condition but I can tell you it would hurt like hell to throw unless all you used to throw was your arm like Matt Stafford

It's not hard to play college baseball for a small school if you are somewhat good I don't know whats so unbelievable about that. I didn't play at UGA or anything
