Rumor had it that LSU was going to hire a Defensive Coordinator who was playing in the playoffs. That pointed to Ron Zook (ST CO) and Dick LeBeau after he resigned. But the Carolina DC has a great record and the sources have been talking about him? Odd the LSU plane and the Panther DC came back to Charlotte around the same time.

Interesting. All sound like great candidates at this point.

Odd that it would depart from Lafayette instead of BR for North Carolina.

Not saying I don't believe you, just odd that it would depart from there.

Still good news just the same though.

What? The plane just came back from North Carolina. It, most likely, was someone chartering the plane for the weekend and had nothing to do with LSU.

I've been saying all along that it will be Dick LeBeau. Even before he resigned.

It's an Acadian ambulance plane; it's always in Lafayette when not traveling.

Pinehurst is not remotely close to Charlotte. Only thing there is a very exclusive golf course (site of US Open) and luxury hotel/resort.

Not saying it's not possible. Just there are many places closer to Charlotte one would want to fly to instead.

LeBeau would be such a bad hire. Not that he couldn't or wouldn't be good, but that he could be dead in a year

McDermott was seemingly under consideration for the DC job back in 08 as well, when he was the DB coach for the Eagles. Hopefully he and Miles have stayed in touch all this time.
