This move says to me that moving Gordon and creating cap space, what most of us want, is not the direction they are going. They are either going to be happy with adding a guy like DeMarre Carroll with the MLE or trade Ryno for a SF. If the cap space QPon is taking up won't be used then the only thing that matters is he plays well enough to be a $3 million bench player.

If Gordon and Evans buy into their roles, I don't think sticking with this roster for now is a bad plan. Use the MLE to get perimeter help, sign Cunningham into the BAE.

Say you get Carroll, that's a balanced roster that allows you to do different things with lineups and still have multiple shooters on the floor.

QPon needs to rediscover his game after his injury. And of course, Monty needs to step up. But a good mix of size (finally) and skills.

Solid move. Love it if it means Monty is committed to having Jrue or Reke at the 1 for all 48.

Would love it even more if we can get Asik closer to 10 mil next year.

Truth. In all reality, 2 of Reke, Jrue, and EG can be in the game at all times and still keep their mins around 30-34 mpg which I would think would be ideal for players their age.

What we saw last night is both what we've been expecting all season and good enough to make the playoffs, so I would agree. The main flaw to that plan is it's still razor thin and Gordon is still injury prone.

If we can turn two out of Rivers/Jimmer and Withey/Ajinca into a decent back up PG, I'd be pretty happy with this roster for the remaining of the season.

Yeah. But almost every one is thin. And I'm more thinking about going into next season. Playoffs are still in play, but I think it's a long shot. By no means are they done and they should dump players, but it's a tough mountain to climb.

If Pondexter returns to 3 and D form and they sign another perimeter guy with the MLE, you can weather a Gordon injury without having to play a Jimmer or Rivers. It will hurt, but not absolutely kill you. I'm all for moving Gordon if the right deal appears, but it doesn't seem as necessary as it has for a long time.

The most recent Simmons/Lowe pod had a great point: the power of not having to play truly bad NBA players. The Pels have been running out couple of guys at a time like that. With QPon, a MLE guy, and Cunningham, they're 9 deep with actual NBA rotation players. When was the last time NO could say that?

Are we just throwing him in along with Smith and Salmons or are we getting something else in addition to Qpon in return?

We'd have to get somebody in return or we'd have no backup PG.

A few days ago i mentioned sending Rivers to Boston for Jameer Nelson. I believe the deal would have to be separate from the Qpon deal.

That might be the only way they get him. I saw some article saying the Wizards are very interested if Nelson gets waived. Minimum on possible 1st round sweep at best or minimum on a decent playoff team in the East?

But Jameer Nelson probably isn't, who do you think he's going to pick if he choosing between teams throwing minimum money at him? Both teams want an need him, one has a decent shot at getting past the first round and maybe even the conference finals, one is probably going to get to go up against the best team in the league if they even make the playoffs. You think Nelson would see the situation any differently than that if money and role were about equal?
