Anyone been yet? I know the family from LC. Pats in LC seemed dated- hope they have newer menu offerings here.

There was a thread on it not long ago. I don't recall much in the way of good reviews.

Here Ya Go

Link above was me asking the same thing. Since the thread, I have only heard it is not good. It is a damn shame that someone would spend that much money and not go and sample similar menus in BR.

I recall reading someone (on their facebook page or something) saying that Pat's was going to show Baton Rouge how to do real Cajun seafood. Perhaps their egos didn't allow them to do market research.

You are correct. Baton Rouge has GOOD FOOD and they banked everything on zero market research. If they did do research then they should fire the researchers and close down and reopen.

the place seems pretty pricey for a lunch place. Not many items under $15. I got the catfish which was $14.95 and it was ok.

Wife got the shrimp poboy which was $10.95. She said it was good.

Sometimes i think these kinds of places should put less effort into hanging nets and paddles and old dock wood around the place and put more effort into their cooking.

This. It looks tacky also.

It took the Pat's people forever to open and when they did open the reviews so far aren't very good. That's disappointing and I have no desire to go there. Maybe they'll wake up and get someone that knows how to cook.

City Cafe is the same way. Other than their boiled crawfish & raw oysters it's like the kitchen has no clue. Their crawfish etouffee is embarrassingly bad. Maybe their brunch is good, I've never tried it.

Wife had a terrible experience at Pat's a few weeks ago. She said it was sub-par food, small portion sizes and inflated prices. Based on her review, I see no need to go try it out.

I see where "Restaurant Impossible's" Mama Della's nearby to Pat's never has any business when I pass by. Don't know how they stay open.

Why is tea so fricking expensive? I can buy 50 tea packets for that price. I don't get it.

The hush puppies are $6. For 8 of them.

Actually, the tea and soda prices ($2.25) are priced normally. (I always look at soda prices at restaurnts. It's my thing.) Just about everything else is definitely higher than expected. If I made the mistake of wandering in there before seeing the prices, I would order the hamburger and fries ($5.95) and a side salad ($1.95) and a sodee pop ($2.25).
