I'm almost done with season 2 of The Wire. Best show ever? meh

I mean don't get me wrong I enjoy it. it's a very solid show. Season 1 was fantastic.
But holy shite season 2 is garbage.
I don't give too shits about all these boring Polish people running around, the dialogue seems forced, I expect the show to be slow but this season is absolutely glacial.
How does this one get so much credit for being the GOAT? It's a solid police drama but man, it ain't that wonderful
Does it start to pick up after season 2? Just stick with it?

what makes Season 2 a good season in your eyes?
Cause I just don't see it. A bunch of small trime Polish people running around doing nothing, being boring. Ziggy might be worst character to ever appear on television.

i didnt care for season 2 the first time i watched it. its better on a scond viewing.
but you havent even scratched the surface of the wire, imo. season 4 might be my all time favorite season of television.

Season 2 is always the shittiest season until you finish the whole series. Then, after a rewatch, you understand that it's one of the best seasons.

watching Frank Zbotka fall was a fricking modern Greek Tragedy, man
it's a tale of moral relativity, showing just how fricked normal people can get when they move their personal boundaries even a little
look at what frank lost and where his family was at, comparing ep 1 to ep 12. and what did he do wrong? nothing really bad. he wasn't a hardened criminal who was "in the game".
also, we got to see the rise of stringer as he saved the barksdale operation from disaster

Not my favorite show ever, I like the Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and GOT better, but top 5 for sure.

Season 2 is bad. Who gives a shite about the docks and McNulty doing fricking boat duty? But don't give up seasons 3-5 are out fricking standing.

ive watched the series completely, but only once.
i found S2 to be the weakest.
it does get exponentially better in S2/3 when the focus is more on the streets than anything else.
