OT help: Quickest way to get a passport

Any advice would be appreciated. I may be traveling overseas in less than two weeks out of Memphis.

i think there is a website. it will be super expensive though. i looked into it awhile back. dont remember the site but just do some googling.

When I was living in BR, I drove to the State Department office in New Orleans and got it the same day. The whole process took 3-4 hours.

I've got an appointment there at 10:30 AM. It takes 8 days to get one. I was really hoping that I could avoid 18 hours in the car for this.

I got my passport overnight for a 60 dollar surcharge by going to the passport office in NOLA

You should of just googled it.
You need to got a passport center. I know there is one in downtown NOLA. You have to bring proof of your travel in less than a month, and you can get one with a one day turnaround, but you will pay like $200 instead of the normal $100.

check into a courier service, also, where I live they have a few private companies that will expedite for you

Thanks. I'm trying to get an appointment now over there. They all say 5-8 days, but I'm just going to hope they can do it faster.

what line of work are you in? I get a letter from my employer that gets me same day service because it's needed for work

You're screwed. The minimum wait for a passport right now is 45days. If you were getting a TWIC card it would be 90 days minimum. A congressman can grease the wheels some, but you have to be annoying and "remind" them several times.

I had mine expedited a couple months ago. Did the whole thing the traditional way through mail. The website says it takes up to 3 weeks, but I got mine in 6 days.

Phhsh, child's play. Try getting a work visa for India in 3 days over a holiday weekend.
