It appears they are protesting the mayor and police. Why are they not protesting the crime?

We have had small dumb protests in Birmingham. They don't even know what they're protesting at this point.

Thanks.
I must have blinked when there were no robbers, rapists and stabbers before Landrieu.

Landrieu wants to pull State Police Troopers from their Troop locations and put them in the French Quarter when there are already more NOPD officers than there are Troopers statewide.
Why can't Landrieu allocate a "French Quarter" division of NOPD similar to what BRPD has done with Downtown Baton Rouge on Third Street?
Also, these signs? If you want more, sign up. There aren't that many officers who want to work in New Orleans these days.

I'm going to leave my house undefended to go to a protest?
Ha, fat chance.

What good would it do to have a bunch of old white people protesting against the crime and the criminals? This is the people they are targeting, they don't care. Either way this protest will accomplish ZERO.

They do. It's called the 8th District. A big problem is the officers work "extra duty" details when they are suppose to be on their regular work assignment.

Other black boys do. Or those people protecting their private property.

I was really hoping those old white people would come out screaming that we are prepared to fight back. Oh well.

Probably afraid NOPD would stea.., er, confiscate their guns.

Only time this has ever worked was after the LA Pizza Kitchen murders. Huge community backlash and NOLA had a strong Police Chief in Pennington. Neither is in place now.

Well I guess the criminals did not care very much about the rally. I heard a bar was robbed at gunpoint that night and I also know there were a couple vehicles broken into in Lakeview last night. I'm sure there was a lot more around the city last night.
