Shreveport/Bossier has seen decreased business and some courses shutting down. And it can't be the economy because it's been very stable.

Around 100 18 hole equivalents were lost in the last year.

The Tiger Wood's effect is over

Time to contract back to normal levels

Just not that many youth throwing money at the sport

I don't play golf because of Tiger Woods. I love the aesthetics of playing in the early morning with dew on the grass. Sharing jokes with my fellow retirees.

I loved the experience of telling a deer to 'go back home, Zach is going to tee off' and watch him stare at me with ears up before he bounded over the fence back into the forest.

Prices have certainly come down. Northwood in Shreveport has opened back up and charging only $25 with a cart on week days. Can't wait till the cold weather breaks and try that course again.

I know someone who was a PGA member. He walked away in 2008 because he was starting to see signs of decline. Turns out he was right.

Says it was the best decision he's ever made. A lot of those pro's struggle

Three courses closed in West Monroe the last few years, 2 this year. All of North Louisiana has taken a hit. So much so that the Amateur Tour will play events in Arkansas, Kinder, and as far away as Jasper, TX. Very few events in North Louisiana, most in Alexandria.

Depends on the situation you're in. Here in Tucson, about 4-5 courses do great business. I am lucky enough to be at one of them. I am also in a great situation to make money as a golf pro. A lot of other places however are struggling, and pros make dick.

Disposal income down, cost of everything going up. I live in a nice area with many courses and you can get a tee time at anytime; 8 years ago everything was booked. Also this is happening with multiple discount sites available. Tiger woods doesn't matter here. Equipment companies are feeling the downturn , prices will have to come down.

Pine Hills and Trenton closed 12/31. They're going to turn it into a walking Park. Seriously, just a place to walk.

Golf courses are doing okay-ish in Arizona. Top Golf (range) is booming right now though.

I keep waiting on my bill from Calvert to jump since they're the only game in town now.
