It may be original but it is not "untouched" as the headline in the article implies - someone has kept it clean and dusted.

Im more concerned with the story on the right of that page saying we have been growing vaginas in labs since 2005!

It is certainly possible. European domestic production of almost all consumer goods came to a halt during WWI as either industries were transformed into military production or labor became scarce as men went off to war. Thus American production of just about everything non military became very big during this period.
