Anyone familiar with this area? Near Belaire High School. IMO it's one of the more overlooked high crime areas in the city. We always associate crime with North Baton Rouge. To me, this area may be worse.

Literally. I had to go through there for work once, and it looked like downtown Baghdad. I really wondered if the garbage men refuse to pick up there because there were huge piles of trash all along the roads.

Last time I checked, that's still North Baton Rouge.

Yeah pretty shitty area. Dead body dropped off at the car wash on the corner a few years ago at Sherwood and Darryl Drive.

Belaire is mostly black now. It used to have mostly white neighborhood kids. Just like other neighborhood schools in Baton Rouge, busing has ruined the schools and neighborhoods around the schools with very few exceptions.

I taught at Belaire during law school and that whole area around the school was rough.

That area north of Florida across from that old Nissan dealer is pretty hairy, and it gets much worse closer to Choctaw.

Some of those apartments near Belaire High need to be destroyed.

I didn't know that area existed until I had to do a post-Gustav damage assessment back in there. Got in and out as fast as possible.
