most of the time, probably 90%, I advise them that if they continue with the complaint the officer will probably sue them for defamation of character. The video can be used in a civil proceeding.
Protect and serve the shite out of them baws.

I love how he openly admits that he threatens citizens who file complaints against his government agency.

And he probably thinks that lawsuit would actually go somewhere.

Libertarian socialists/communists are a thing, and it's not self-contradictory. They simply disagree with the more mainline libertarians on the subject of property ownership. While mainlines believe that a property right is gained either by creation or by use/homesteading, socialist/communist libertarians don't believe it's possible to gain property rights in such a way.

Patently? Words have specific meanings. There is nothing patent about an ongoing debate.

I love how you misconstrue my words. I understand you hate the police, but if someone flat out lies about me they are defaming my character. I understand that is probably a hard concept for you to comprehend.

I also have and will discipline my guys if they screw up.

If it is a outright lie it will go somewhere.

Complaining to a supervisor isn't defamation. Like, at all.

What political persuasion do you think the cops are, who stole the kid's phone and lied about being attacked outside the Varsity?

This is about cops and lying, right?

You would probably be surprised......there are a SUBSTANTIAL amount of conservative cops. MOST cops believe in being responsible for ones own actions

Maybe I misunderstood your post , when you say "complaining to a supervisor" are you talking about the cop or a citizen??

A citizen.

ETA: Cops are citizens, FWIW.

If you are flat out lying about a incident them yes it is. For example, saying you were sexually assaulted when in fact the officer barely spoke to you on a traffic stop.

Now complaining about the officer being rude or discourteous are not things I am talking about. If that is the complaint then we look at the video and see. Either way on that I don't say let's sue them for slander.

I apologize if you misunderstood that.

I could call you right this minute and vehemently claim that every officer in your employ had raped me, and I wouldn't be guilty of defamation.

ETA: You've never had an officer sue anyone for defamation of character, have you? At least not under the circumstances you've described, because you know that that petty nonsense would be laughed out of court and you'd appear publicly as the idiot you are privately.

To be clear, what you've said is that when citizens come to you with complaints, you look at a video and then either discipline officers, or threaten the complainant with a lawsuit, presumably on behalf of the officer. You make this threat based on the intellectually retarded notion that complaining to a superior is tantamount to defamation of character. These aren't my words, or fabrications. They're simply a summation of your posts.

And if that happened, he'd suddenly have something worth talking about. As it is, we have this sort of self important blob threatening people with frivolous lawsuits for pursuing complaints.
