You said Rohan failed on a bigger stage and in a bigger game than JJ did... The 2011 NC was the biggest stage JJ could have started. Rohan never started a game that important. Just tell me WHAT GAME Rohan failed in that was more important than THAT game...

Here is your problem...YOU CAN'T.....

You didn't answer shite... You skated around it cause you can't back up your big mouth. You bash Rohan some some reason cause he was recruited By Saban...

AGAIN I bet you were cheering AGAINST LSU in 2003 hoping they would lose cause Saban was the coach..

they do in this case since they went undefeated and won the national championship in 2010 and played in another one in 2013. I'd take a winless sec season if i could get another national championship in the process.

Skipping the 2,000 pages here:

Saban inherited a team that was loaded, make no mistake...not loaded the way Saban and Miles would load, but loaded nonetheless. The best young LB corp in the country...a future Biletnikoff winner, a great qb, a hell of a DL and some great O-linemen...yada, yada...DiNardo recruited well, too. The cupboard was bare when Saban arrived = not the case. Also, DiNardo arrived to some pretty damn good NFL talent as well (Northern, Faulk, Tori James, A. Stansberry, Denard Walker, A McFarland, Chuck Wiley, David LaFleur, etc.). The cupboard was only bare during the failing years of Mike Archer and Hallman's first year.

That said, I see the OP's original point. It's semi-clever and it does warrant a question. Think about how excited we were to play f'ing Illinois in the Sugar Bowl that season. Think about those 3 losses...one of them being an absolute embarrassment at the hands of Florida and an inability to adjust on Manning and his corp of wide-outs and TE's in the second half of the Ole Miss loss (Ole Miss didn't go to a bowl that season). Had the offense been firing that season like it did vs. Illinois, Arkansas, Alabama, and Auburn, would we have gone undefeated? Perhaps...at least just one loss. Still, that was a different time.

Did NIck Saban make LSU or did LSU make Nick Saban? Did Mark Emmert make LSU? Or did LSU make him? Saban was a coach who'd been nowhere incredible. He was not at the top of any list when we DID hire him. He was not so well-liked until 2001. Then, in 2002, he blew the Mauck qb situation in Florida. He blew the decision to kick a meaningless FG at the end of the game and allowed a soft defense and ST to allow Arkansas down the field easily. To this day, I have never been more stunned in a game. We backed into the '03 title game, yes. Still, I wonder what type of game LSU/USC would have been...not Oklahoma with a hobbled qb who couldn't win their Big XII title game. In '04, we saw a very similar year to 1996. So, did we regress? Were we going to become after 5 years an absolute power every season with Saban? Who knows? BUT...again, I end with did we make Saban or did he make us?

no. he'd probably rather average 10 wins over the last 5 season than average 9 and have a national championship.

Auburn has accomplished more than LSU over the last 5 years yet he's trying to squeeze LSU into the top 5 somehow while discounting what auburn has done because they had a winless regular sec season and ran their coach off following it. i'd easily trade places with auburn from 2010-2014 and gain a national championship and another sec championship, but that's just me.

I'd rather have a program that is best positioned for future success and the one that averages 2 losses a year rather than the one who averages 4.

Aside from the Prayer at Jordan-Hare and Kick Six, Auburn has posted records of 8-4, 7-5, and 3-9. But they're a Top 5 program because they outbid MSST for Cam Newton....

Michigan State and Stanford are better arguments than Auburn is... And even those are weak. They each have virtually identical overall records.

Michigan State has one conference championship and one BCS bowl win... While playing in the B1G.

You could argue Stanford, who has two conference championships and two BCS bowl wins, and I won't argue if that's what you want. That said, they've gotten worse every year since Harbaugh and Luck left, so you might want to keep an eye on them

St. is better than LSU with one exeption.. They have not had a chance to play in THE title game...

Stanford has been more steady. I left LSU out for two reasons... SO many times over the last 5 years Miles has cost his team a game that they had by either not having his team focused or he made critical coaching errors during said games... PLUS that HORRIBLE game against Bama.......In the BCS game.....

Michigan State has gone 33-9 in the B1G... LSU has gone 30-12 in the SEC... Who is REALLY better?

You left out LSU because given the choice between a comparable B1G team, PAC-12, team, and SEC team, you favored the selection which eliminated LSU as a Top 5 team based on your own selective criteria.

Stanford never won a conference championship with Jim Harbaugh and Andrew Luck, shouldn't that be cause to leave them out?

In 2010, Michigan State was pounded by a worse Bama team than the one LSU faced en route to 49-7. Shouldn't that be cause to leave them out?

A truly miserable time to be a LSU football fan. Horrible on the field, horrible on the sidelines, and horrible to watch La. talent leaving the state in the car loads. I will always be thankful to DiNardo for his efforts in ending our misery.

In '04,

Nick was a very good HC at LSU, but he had peaks and valley's. It wasn't like his 5 yrs here came without any problems or failures. Going from 13 wins to 9 wins is a fairly big drop, but that happens in programs. We could spend all day talking bout the national programs which hit speed bumps. Some are able to correct themselves and some spend yrs trying to regain control.

Also looking back that staff had

Saban, Fisher, Muschamp, Dooley.

Harbinson was dc at state and now co dc at Auburn

Michael Haywood was Oc at ND and head coach at Miami of Ohio

Stan Hixon assistant HC at Penn state.

Gary Gibbs, Saints and KC DC

How the frick did we lose with the talent on the field and on the coaching staff?
