Ahhh, I see still no athiest able to argue my point about the monkeys we supposably evolve from. Still monkeys in the wild just as sure as still Jesus, God, and holy ghost in heaven. Some truths liberal lies just can't kill lol
Dude, stop, evolution happened. God created all of this but not in 7 days. The creation story Noah told was in a manner that was digestible to people 3000 years ago. You can't tell people that all of this took billions of years when the people don't understand the concept of a year.

Yeah, sure, but u forget that one day to God maybe not be the same as one day for humans. We are small dust motes to him an he is the ceiling g fan directing current of our lives.

That's my point. It's all up to god. Why take precautions? Why lock your doors? If god wants you to be robbed, isn't that his will?
Because not being afraid of death is entirely different from actively seeking it. God has still made man a creature of choice. God does protect and direct and influence circumstances around us everyday. However, If we choose to do stupid things that we know is gonna destroy us he will allow us to suffer consequences for our decisions- up to and including death in some instances. God is sovereign, but he did not make us robots. Atheists are perfect examples of Gods allowing mans freedom of choice, and ultimately reaping the consequences. Hopefully, before Gods grace for them is up, they will choose to see things as they truly are and accept God as their sovereign.

I honestly don't think he's trolling.

I'm just messing around, man. I have a degree in biology, focused on evolution, and quit religion years ago.

Serious question to my atheist friends. Why do you exist? For what purpose? Do you hang on to life simply because you are scared to die? I mean, there's no point in leaving a legacy, raising kids, being in love, or enjoying anything good in life if it means absolutely nothing and amounts to nothing but refuse when it all boils down to...well... NOTHING. Right? Why do you cling to something that gives no hope?
The universe or existence itself simply IS for the same reason that theists ascribe to God - just because. See, if you believe that the Christian God gives your life meaning and purpose then that begs the question "Why does God exist?" Ultimately the answer boils down to "just because." Yet there's no observable evidence of a sentient God existing "just because." If anything, the need to believe in a greater force as a provider of purpose in life is borne out of arrogance.
As for "hanging on to life," wouldn't a person believing that a better life awaits them after this one want to just get this one over with straight away and move on? An atheist would have more reason then to value this life and make the most of it. A person's life has whatever meaning or value they create in it for themselves.

How do atheists explain the spiritual nature of man? Is it just a dilusion for morons, or did we "evolve" that too?
Brain function is a remarkable thing and not by a long shot is it fully understood, though ongoing research is shedding more and more light into the underlying biological mechanics of thought and emotion. The "spiritual nature of man" argument you are making here is commonly referred to as "God of the gaps."

The public high school here, where my youngest son attends, has several teachers that believe the earth is around 6000 years old. How is this belief possible?
I don't know. It doesn't come from the Bible.
I will reword the question, but you don't have to answer because I am not stating this is your beliefs.
My son attends the local public high school in a very christian community. There are several teachers that are very vocal about the Earth being thousands of years old and not billions, and the Earth is about 4.54 billion years old. A lot of Christians believe the age of the Earth being only 5 or 6 thousand years old is rediculous. How can someone be so ignorant and be an educator? I've been to places in the mid west that are 200 million years in forming. There are redwoods that are 5000 years old. The petrified forest is a half million years old.

Read the first versus of Genesis and focus on these things occurring in phases rather than days. You'll find that Genesis is right in line with science - and it was written long before science ever got these things sorted.

You got me man, if you think this is all some educators are ignorant of then you are sadly mistaken. 6000 year old earthers are as ridiculous as those who think that science precludes faith. Both sides are nuts.

The 6,000 year-old Earth theory goes back to the 19th century, I heard about it on radio a few days ago, but forget the details.
Whoever promulgated it went to the Bible and extrapolated the years as given in the genealogy of Jesus as written by St. Matthew in his Gospel. It gives 14 generations, three times. It's not meant to be a totally complete family tree or timeline. But instead to be symbolic.
But those who interpret the Bible word for word, comma for comma, and period for period as translated by King James...well, there you go.

pWhy are you not living the riskiest life possible in an effort to get to heaven as quickly as possible? If heaven is as amazing as you say it is, why do so many 'true believers' try to prolong their time on earth? Heaven is the goal, you can get there a lot quicker if you don't wear your seatbelts. Maybe one day strap a blindfold on while driving down I-10 and let Jesus take the wheel. I just don't understand why true believers aren't making every effort to get to heaven immediately.
Most prob bc it's human nature to live.
Let me hold your head, Charles Manson and billy Graham's under water and see what happens after about 10 seconds.
My money's on same thing by each person.
You people try way too hard to convince yourself and others that Christ doesn't exist.
I suppose it makes you feel better about yourself... I really don't know why you exert the energy.

I would argue that "you people" try way too hard to convince yourself that Christianity is the one truth.
