Do you know what enlightenment really means?

The end of suffering

Yes, this is a moral victory for you. I'm raising the white flag. There is no room for conversation here.

This isn't a "moral victory" type discussion for me. Its much bigger. Its not a discussion one Christian or atheist "wins" or "loses". Its a discussion of what real truth is, and the answer has eternal consequences for all of mankind. It really should be given deep deep thought on everyone's part.

I didn't come to these conclusions because i was enlightened, quite the opposite. All suffering, illness, pain, sorrow, grief, and depression happens to people that finally heard the call and answered it.

Problem is, once they answered it, they want to change their mind, but you can't un ring a bell. The suffering is not from anything but resistance to be enlightened, to wake up.

Because waking up means no more individuality, no more *Me, no more independence, no more being unique, special, apart from.

So what happens if you don't become enlightened? You get to start over here, and try again.

Welcome to reality

Preaching. That's not providing facts or anything rational for that matter.

Both sides hold on vehemently to their ideology. I just know that one side is gonna be VERY SURPRISED when they slip off into eternity. Its heartbreaking, but like I said before, God allows us to make our choice to believe or not. Just be prepared to deal with the eternal consequences when you are wrong.

1. How do you know that you're not the wrong flavor of Christianity? You know that all other religious people all over the world believe just as deeply that they're right and you're wrong and support their beliefs in exactly the same way as you with the same sort of "proof?"

2. Let's set aside for a moment all the logical flaws in the standard American Christian version of eternal damnation. Let's look straight to the Bible. Do you believe in a literal reading of the Bible or a figurative interpretation? Or do you pick and choose which to read literally and which ones to interpret as being poetic or figurative in nature?

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (From Merriam-Webster : to die or be killed, to disappear or be destroyed, to cease to exist)

Matthew 10:28 - And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell. (destroy : to cause something to end or no longer exist)

There's tons more if anyone gives two shits.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but the apostles weren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, He was forever correcting them, and even by the end of his life, they didn't get it.

Take it for what its worth to you

It's never been explained to me why "faith" is such a virtue. Of all the things God might care about, faith is an odd choice.

According to Matthew, He really doesn't.

But casual Catholics and some of the fundies have adopted the faith test as a sort of easy button.

Its an advantage, it takes the worry out of everything, allows you to focus the mind on the present moment, which is all there really is.

Dude, you basically just said that your entire belief system is based on the writings of misinformed morons.

But ya gotta have faith-a faith-a faith!

My bad. Must have confused you with another poster.

ETA: upon looking back at your posts it seems your belief system isn't based on anything but gobbledygook inside your own head.

I really love vagina. The taste, the feel, the smell if it's a good one. Love it.
