Scored 68 points vs the Knicks in a game in which he fouled out. That was a record at the time, may still be.

Florida Marlins in 2006 are the only MLB team to be 20 games under .500 only to come back to reach .500 and eventually reach 1 game over .500.

In 1932, Colgate was 9-0 and never gave up a point.

Rugby:
In a 133 years of rugby, the New Zealand All Blacks hold an 84% winning record against all oppostion played.
They have also won 74% of all test matches played, and hold a winning record against EVERY TEST NATION IN THE WORLD (including the British & Irish Lions, and the World XV).

Only five test nations (National teams) IN HISTORY have ever beaten the All Blacks:
Australia, South Africa, France, England, and Wales.

Not even the great Brazilian Football Team can match the proud winning record of New Zealand.
The same applies to Canada in Ice Hockey, Australia in Cricket, or any professional sports team from the United States.

Terrell Suggs holds the season and career NCAA sack record with 24 and 44 respectively, but only because the NCAA didn't start keeping the stat until 2000

Derrick Thomas bested Suggs in both, posting 27 sacks in a season and 52 in his career.

Minnie Minoso did the same thing, 40s-80s

Not really.

Minnie Minoso played from 1949 to 1964.

He pinched hit in 3 games in 1976 and 2 games in 1980, as he was a batting coach for the White Sox.

Gordie Howe actually PLAYED from 1946 to 1980.

There's never been a MLB player whose last name started with an X.
And 3 whose first name has.

In SEVEN different seasons Joe Dimaggio had more home runs than strikeouts. I don't know who the last guy was to have ONE season with more HRs than SOs but it must have been a long time ago.

Xander Boegaerts
Xavier Nady
Xavier Paul
Xavier Scruggs
Xavier Rescigno
Xavier Cedeno
Xavier Avery
Xavier Hernandez
Etc

Just go on to FanGraphs and type in Xa on the player search. You will get a half dozen Major League Xaviers. I knew the first six I listed.

I bet it will. Its something that causes huge gaps because a guys success rate being a little bit better justifies getting factors of more attempts. If a guy with Trindon Holiday speed could have any success in MLB, he would break it.

Meh, less and less teams are allowing their people to steal bases these days.

Which will eventually restore value to being able to steal bases; as teams do it less, teams will practice and refine the fundamentals of defending it less, making it more effective. We're already seeing it, to some extent, in the sharp decline of caught stealing rates.
