Gordie Howe played in the NHL in 5 decades- 40's to the 80's.

That will never be done again by any player in any sport ever.

Minnie Minoso did the same thing, 40s-80s

A friend of one of my better frinds is roommates with his wife's brother. Apparently Clayton and his wife helped him move into their house at school or something like that

Cy Young won 511 games.

If someone pitched every 2 games and won them ALL, they would need over 6 seasons to break that record.

Hoyt Wilhelm hit a home run in his first major league at bat and never hit another one in a 26 year major league career. Great thread

"According to Synergy Sports, Josh Smith is in the bottom 8 percent in overall points per possession, bottom 6 percent in transition PPP, bottom 11 percent in halfcourt, and bottom 21 percent after timeouts. He's bottom 10 percent on pick-and-rolls, bottom 12 percent on spot-ups (on which he takes a full quarter of his shots), and spikes to a frigid 23rd percentile mark for post-ups."

Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak will never be broken

Don Mattingly once hit MLB record six grand slams in a season. He also occasionally took infield at SS righty.

Goose Gossage once retired 28 consecutive batters closing games during a Yankee title run.

Tony Dungy is the only player since the merger to intercept a pass and throw an interception in the same game.

Dungy is also one of just three men to win Super Bowl rings as both a player and a head coach. (The others are Tom Flores and Mike Ditka.)
