Give me a logical reason why James Bond should be black and I'll change my mind.

Because the people who make the movie think he is the best at performing he role as visioned by the producer and director. Not even addressing his race. They think he is the BEST ACTOR for the role. That is as logical as it gets.

Sorry but when I read your post my old and slow computer had only posted my quote so I didn't respond because I thought you were agreeing with me.

I should have known better.

If that's what the people who make the movie think then it may be "as logical as it gets" but it's still illogical.

It would be nice if you posted my post that you are referring to so I could understand your response.

Naw, It's just when I post my opinion and people start insulting me then I like taking them on.

Besides, I can read and respond to several threads at the same time.

It's called multi-tasking.

BTW, if women are so good at multi-tasking then how come they can't have a headache and sex at the same time?

Did you know Cinderella was brought back to Broadway and has been playing for the past two years? Close to 800 performances. Look who is playing the wicked stepmother and Cinderella:

The step-mom is Nene Leakes from the Real Housewives. Before her was the black chick they just fired from The View, Sherry Shepard.

Know why they went with black actresses? Because people have seen white Cinderellas for decades.

If you actually think producers place black people in roles as some sort of affirmative action, at the risk of millions, then you need your head examined. If they decide to go with a black Bond it will only be after testing focus groups to see if it will draw more box office.

It's all about putting a new spin on an old product.

There's your logic Dog boy.

I am certainly not surprised that you are on top of this. If I ever need any info on a lavish broadway musical, I know where I can turn.

Using that illogic we should change every iconic fictional white character to a black character simply because they have been portrayed as white people for decades.

Let's change Snow white to Snow Black and let's change the seven dwarfs to the seven giants.

After all, Snow White has been portrayed by a white woman for decades and the seven dwarfs have been portrayed by little people for decades.

I'm sure Leakes and Shepard are capable actresses and can play their roles well but it is just a gimmick in order to get more publicity for the play than if those two roles were played by two white women.

You need your head examined if you think producers don't know they are being forced to have diversity in their TV shows, movies or plays or else they will be accused of being racist by loony lefty morons like you.

It's all about forcing TV, movie and play producers to hire more blacks for starring roles.

What is the difference? He is an actor in a movie, it is art if it is a fictional or historical story. Your point is lame.

"And because Eon Productions has repeatedly refused to respond to Secretary of Social Justice Ayers' entreaties to cast that guy from The Wire as the new James Bond, I have instructed Secretary of Defense Mohammed to begin an immediate bombing campaign of Britain, until such time as they watch Luther and see the light."

Jesus Christ, my bachelor's degree is in marketing.

There is NOTHING that you can teach me on that subject, fool.

And those are clichés, not "marketing rules."

Wow. What a crazy thread. I don't know care why they would cast Idris, but if they do I'm more likely to go see it. I can't think of anyone that could do a better job.

Those are words of wisdom for everything you do in life including marketing not clichés, genius,

It's no skin off of my back if you let go of that bird in your hand in order to go after the two birds in the bush.

You'll do great in business.

Incorrect, those are clichés, old sport. And they're also not marketing rules, as you claimed earlier.

Again, not a universal marketing principle. I highly suggest that you drop this preposterous pretense. It's even more absurd than your position regarding Idris Elba.

Some more words of wisdom:

Don't hesitate; look before you leap
The devil's in the details; don't sweat the small things
Sticks and stones may breaks my bones but words will never hurt me; the pen is mightier than the sword

Go ahead an8d think these words are just clichés that don't apply to marketing.

When you are guaranteed a profit by marketing your product in a certain manner and instead you decide to market your product in another manner because that other manner has the very remote possibility of doubling your profit then you are indeed a fool.

They don't, thanks for playing

When you have a successful franchise that has saturated its target audience, maintaining the status quo as opposed to marketing it in innovative ways and generating "first mover" fealty is a great way to allow said franchise to start to slip into obscurity and irrelevance.

Sit the frick down, son.

One cannot apply trite phrases to typical marketing strategies across the board. As genro so succinctly illustrated, there are equal/opposite phrases for everything under the sun. Highly unwise way to run a business or marketing strategy.

I don't take the advice of a fool.

I assume you don't take your own advice, then.
