Amen... It's not just Gruden. There are a handful of coaches out there that are more organized, run the program with more discipline, are imaginative and can change with the times and can recruit lights out in Louisiana. And with the resources LSU has, I think there are a handful of accomplished coaches that could come in and do better than Les in the SEC West. TRust me...times are changin' in our division. If we want to compete for championships, we have to change with the times...plain and simple.

You are making shite up. You have no idea how well organized Gruden would be running a college team and managing teenagers. The only thing you know about the guy are his laughably superficial pre-draft QB critiques which are tantamount to a verbal handjob on ESPN for prospects.

That and pointing out that 95% of what he talks about is completely irrelevant bullshite. He bloviates like Chris Berman.

FL record to Les' 2+ losses per year is the stupidest thing anyones posted yet. The NFL is a TOTALLY different game, dude...

Go back to romper room...lol

Sorry dude. Just because Gruden makes scary faces and growls doesn't make him a good football coach. His record stands for it self. He's not a consistent winner. Period. You just might ask yourself this question, "If he's so damn good, why is he blabbering on television and not coaching?" Maybe just maybe the people that know football (which obviously leaves you out) know exactly how good he is.
Lifetime .540. That speaks volumes. Never over .600 cumulative at either of his HC stops.

Some savior.
In his best year, what was he....760? His best year?

John Gruden is the most overrated coach is history at this point.

He was good for three seasons. Came into a nice roster at TB. He was mediocre AT BEST for the rest of his tenure. There is a reason he's staying his arse in the booth.

did you forget the good job he did at Oakland too? The guy is not overrated. Look at TB without him now.

Most high school fball players think Jon Gruden is an announcer and not a coach. Gruden has never recruited a hs player and anyone who thinks he would do well at that is not in tune with high school kids. no, No, NO! to Jon Gruden ever at LSU.

The NFL is a hard game to stay on top. Very few have done it. As a matter of fact, only Belichick is doing it now. Maybe Cowher, but he was very mediocre for many years too. Even Jimmy Johnson sucked arse outside of the dynasty years.

Gruden took over a shite oakland team and went 12-4 and 10-6 after two rebuilding years, including an AFC Championship appearance and what should've been another (tuck rule...)

Then won a Superbowl at Tampa and won the division 3 times. Sure, he struggled at the QB position, but with salary cap struggles and not having the top pick in the draft, it's hard to find a franchise QB. He won a superbowl with freaking BRAD JOHNSON.

Almost every successful coach in the NFL lucked into a good QB. PEte Carroll, Belichick, Payton, etc. etc.

Speaking of Pete Carroll, before his USC tenure his winning percentage in the NFL was .515. Yeah, I guess it's fair to judge too quickly. Carroll proved to be decent in college I think.

Gruden gets offense.

Cam's offensive production at the NFL level is so much greater than Gruden's it's not even funny.

Two years ago there was an extensive study done of NFL OCs. They looked at the following 15 primarily offensive categories: Team W/L %, takeaway/giveaway ratio, yards, points, offensive giveaways, rush. att., rush yds., rush TDs, rush Y/A, fewest fumbles, pass att., pass yds., pass TDs, fewest INTs, and net yards per pass attempt.

During his tenure, Cam's offenses averaged a top 10 in 11 of those 15 categories (the only coaches who had 11-or-more were Kubiak (11) and Shanahan (12). Cam was 9th in the study.

Sean Payton was top 10 in 10 categories but had the highest overall percentage. Josh McDaniels was sixth and Mike McCarthy 10th.

Gruden's tenure placed him among the top 10 in one category (fewest interceptions) and he was 23rd in the study.

Objectively, Gruden's reputation far exceeds the production of his offenses.

That's what you rantards want. A coach that has a history of struggling at the QB position.

Then what?

How many years has he lost fewer than 4 games?

Flawed hero man very flawed.
