I'd take a well trained poodle over one of those two. As long as we have good coordinators we'd have the same results.

John Gruden is the most overrated coach is history at this point.

He was good for three seasons. Came into a nice roster at TB. He was mediocre AT BEST for the rest of his tenure. There is a reason he's staying his arse in the booth.

Gruden. Every kid in the country would want to play for him.

He could pick the top 25 recruits every year, and he'd still lose. Coaching is hard work. Gruden is out of coaching because he doesn't want to work hard anymore. I'm sure he'd be a great coach if he was willing to grind, but he's not.

BTW, I respect him for not wanting to grind anymore. This is in no way a knock on him.

Gruden's reputation is largely undeserved in light of his actual coaching record, and his mystique has grown since he retired.

Gruden all the way, Miles can recruit but does not understand X's and O's.

Curley Hallman say hey

I would take Miles

Gruden is very overated. He has done a great job of selling himself though.

Gruden's winning percentage in the NFL was 54%. Some NFL Coaches with better winning percentages than him:
- Mike Smith
- Jason Garrett
- Mike Mccoy
- Tom Coughlin

Gruden is way overrated due to his announcing role.

Remember in the movie "Cocktail" when Tom Cruise's character was taking classes and he got into a verbal sparring match with his business class professor (played by the guy who was Mr. Bentley in "The Jeffersons" sitcom)? Cruise's character told the professor that he (the professor) was hiding behind a podium at the University because he "...couldn't hack it in the real world " (i.e. the business world).

That's Jon Gruden.
We'll keep Les, for now.

Yeah, Saban really killed it in the NFL.

The point is that Gruden winning a super bowl then basically burning out and leaving the coaching business to be an announcer is absolutely zero indication of success as the head coach of a college football program.

That should be obvious.
