I can't figure out people who hate Christmas

As I've gotten older I try but I just don't understand them.... Not on this topic.
It's got to be one of a couple things.
1) they are/were poor.... Never got any presents so bitterness sets in.
2) the need to be different..... This is a chosen not learned behavior.
Unfortunately, some morons feel the need to be different and against whatever the mainstream or majority does. Its sad.
3) the most understandable for me is someone who has had tragedy in his her life and this time of year is painful.
I get it. ,, however if you have family and friends it could be very therapeutical if sad person would just be open to it.
I read a sign one time that said enjoy your life, most folks are as happy as they make up their mind to be.
Made a lot of sense to me and is very true.
4) the religious affiliation you have doesn't allow it... This sucks too. I have a buddy that was Jehovah's Witness and they didn't do Christmas. I felt sorry for him bc he didn't get to be involved with presents and parties and whatever else we did in school.
Fwiw he's not a JW anymore as celebrates Christmas today with his family.
If you hate Christmas I truly feel sorry for you. It comes around once a year. People in general are nicer, the lights and decorations are beautiful and the anticipation on most kids faces is priceless.
It was a joyful occasion as a kid for me and even more so now that I have family kids of my own.
Furthermore IMO it's shitty of you if you have kids to deprive them of a time in their life that they can enjoy for realistically 5-6 years... I'm referring to the whole Santa Claus thing.
So with that, Merry Christmas, Christmas lovers !
Get a life Christmas haters, quit being miserable.

I hated Christmas for years after working retail clothing in the mall as a kid. Would work 30+ hours dealing with the most ungrateful and rude people. Wasn't worth it. Just became fed up with the holidays. To this day I can't stand loud arse Christmas music.

my future in laws are Jewish and they get/give more presents on Christmas morning than we do as Catholics.

You also forgot 5) Family members work in retail and because so many people shop at late hours, they're never home to be with family as evidenced by my dad who is a manager at a major department store and has worked until 10pm every day (save one) since Thanksgiving. He'll get off on Christmas Eve at 5pm, have Christmas off, and then is expected at work on the 26th at 4am to get ready for returns and the after-Christmas sales.

Some people find the addition of putting up lights, getting and decorating a tree, shopping, wrapping presents, and traveling to see family to their list a nuisance and added stress.
I love Christmas, but it's been a pita this year.

Christmas is easily the most materialistic and stressful holiday. You forgot to mention both of those things.
