Being alone prob does really suck.

I truly feel for people that are.
Should anyone I know personally be alone on Christmas they'd be more than welcome at my house.

Jesus christ!!! Your "Look at me and how great i am in comparison to you" shite makes me think your life is actually terrible and you are working real hard to convince yourself other wise. My parents are great. They love Christmas. They would be ok with nothing. Its me that feels the pressure OF THE HOLIDAY to get them something. Has nothing to do with them.

working retail

This x1,000.

Worked retail from age 14 all the way through college. Hated Christmas with a passion.

I still don't totally like it, but getting out of retail and then a few years later having a kid has made me appreciate it a bit more.

Family problems and money are the reasons some people hate it.

A) thats because i try not to post on the rant and/or racial topics.

B) I can assure that there are few things in this world i take less seriously than topics on the OT.

I don't hate Christmas, I'm indifferent to it. I'm not religious. I buy gifts for some of my immediate family and that's it. I expect no gifts from anyone. I don't put a tree or lights up..

finally, sanity in the thread, mostly because you agree with me!

5) Always work the holidays, single, no kids, never married, lives away from family.

I wouldn't say I "hate" it, but it doesn't feel like any other day to me.

Agree with this.

I wouldn't say that I "Hate Christmas". But I definitely don't get overly giddy about the holiday.

One huge turn off is that the fact that the media starts pumping us for Xmas in October. I think I've seen the Zales christmas commercial five hundred times now.

I don't hate Christmas at all. Most important thing to me is being able to go to Christmas Eve services at my church. But all the other stress associated with the holiday....not a big fan of. If I had it my way....no one in my family would worry about exchanging gifts except for any children in the family. Also, I'm usually working some part of Christmas so I don't get a ton of time off to enjoy it anyways. And, don't know why but it seems like every year there is usually some other stressors going on that time of year that make it more difficult to get in the Christmas spirit. Every year it seems like I find myself saying "I'm gonna celebrate Christmas better next year"....and then stuff happens.
