You are correct. The idea is to expand Kennilworth across Perkins to some of the open land behind the hospitals and have it go over the interstate and connect with Jefferson or Corporate. It could never hurt to have another road that allows one to get from Nicholson all the way over I-10/12

Okay, I normally agree with you, but this is a terrible idea and a logistical nightmare.

If they want another overpass, maybe at the end of constitution over to Corporate would make more sense.

The newly opened Starring extension to Burbank is working well.

Hopefully that could be extended to Nicholson somehow. It is a big improvement.

Not to mention it would likely have to connect to Bocage, so add a political quagmire on top.

That sounds like every road expansion project ever...?

No. this has to do with access to OLOL and accreditation of the ER. Factual stuff. I'm no engineer or land speckalator.

They also need to go ahead and widen the rest of Perkins to Airline, get that I-10 interchange at Picou, add another interchange at Bluff Road

I always think that 12 should have have a split on the 10 east flyover that dropped down to the back of the OLOL clusterfrick. I know it would go through the Rural Life property but frick main, make that shite way up high and tell them to frick off. LIving in Dallas during the Tech Boom(watched the 190 get 10 miles in 2 years and high-five built) spoilt me to see how shite can get done.

Moar!!!! fricking someone needs to run on that platform as mayor(even if it's mostly in AP).

4 lanes to Sorrento on I-10 while we're at it.

The strip between the post office and the mall on bluebonnet is already shitty.
Perkins to I-10 on Essen is a constant shite show.
Nicholson at bright side has been "in planning" for 3 years.

No. Widening Perkins between driven and highland in preparation for an I-10 off-ramp at pecue in 10 years is more important.

you sound like you know a bunch.

We do not have enough "flyovers" to cross I-10 or I-12; consequently, cars that want to go from one side of the interstates to the other compete with cars who are exiting and entering the interstate.

I thought connecting Hennesey (street OLOL is on) to a highway from Kennilworth @ Perkins across I-10 over Ward's Creek to Corporate would do the trick. It could continue throw the Witter property to Jefferson Hwy.

That would relieve traffic on College and Essen and unlock the Hennessey dead end and make Hennessey function.

I was also thinking a flyover reconnecting North and South Harrell's Ferry should have been built instead of the monster of a five lane road that dead ends with Sherwood Forrest. Traffic could cross I-12 and not travel under I-12 and Sherwood.

That spot would be a much easier spot for an overpass, but does not offer the ability to connect that overpass to much else. It would help, though and may be much more feasible. I think that if such a project is done, whatever street is used should be extended to highland & Burbank or to another road that connects with those streets south of Perkins.

How about a new Ascension EBR connector that originates at a key spot in Ascension Parish and connects to Burbank where it takes a 90 degree turn towards Siegen Lane.

Put a modern interchange there so traffic from Ascension to EBR could hit Burbank and head towards Siegen or towards Bluebonnet or LSU.

The time to do it is now. Nothing is built up in these areas, yet.

Agree with all of the above. Was I the only person who didn't know that Cedercrest cut through I-12?

You see wrecks when dumbasses use them as travel/passing lanes.

15 years ago, yes; but not anymore.

BTW, Coursey Drive should have connected to Jefferson Hwy. North of the old Troop A 20 years ago. A modern overpass intersection could have been build. No traffic lights and the mess at Coursey and Bluebonnect would not have been necessary.

EBR missed out on a lot of good chances to streamline the major interior arteries.

And now Martinez can't get anything passed. Thanks a lot, Tommy.
Another head on collision last week killing 2 school children on highway 74 I think up by the Walgreens. 4 lane is a pipe dream. All I ask for are shoulders to maneuver if necessary. Right now, if you leave the road, you die in a ditch.
These nimrods in this parish won't approve a tax for anything. "A tax for a road is a vote for Obama". I realize that the old timers don't want it because they want to keep the place rural. But it's not - it's suburbia. And Ascension was one of those parishes where a few families owned vast amounts of land and they're are now, to some extent, selling it off. But they still want to run things.
Still the young people and the people that just moved into the Parish should start having more influence.
I contrast this to where I grew up - Lafayette- they've been taxing themselves for infrastructure since the 1970s. Heck the town is downright socialist (even though it 75% republican). Great roads; Lafayette utilities; Lafayette Fiber.
