Pretty sad that we let some group of hackers bring down an entire film. Terrible precedent to set.

Sony is so fricked. I can't imagine what it's like over there right now.

1) Movie theaters and Sony would be liable if any violence occurs at any theater showing the film 2) Any theater or chain showing the movie may keep movie-goers away who would be there to see other films. Major factor during the second busiest movie season of the year. I'm sure there was pressure on Sony from other studios and from movie theater groups.

So...lawyers.

Terrorists and lawyers. I don't know which group merits more hatred.

I'd be hesitant to download the movie for fear that the North Koreans would find a way to put some sort of super virus in it. I don't know if it is possible, but I'd be a little worried.

Not sure I'd call the movie theater chains "Hollywood." Hollywood are the folks who made the film.

This is the generation that no longer blames the parent for their child's behavior but we blame the teachers, movies, games or whatever the frick else we can blame for Little Johnny being a little twit.

Backing down to North Korea over a movie being released is about the last message you want to send to these assholes.

The movie looks terrible, but now I want to see it on general principle. This is ludicrous.

Does anyone actually believe that North Korean sleeper cells can actually pull off a 9/11 type event at any moment?

What would they do? Attack the grid? If they did that, North Korea would cease to exist in less than 30 minutes.

Release straight to DVD, and it will probably be one of the biggest selling DVDs ever.

But we are a nation of pantywaisted women.... It's the new normal. John Wayne would be labeled a violent misogynist in 2014 America.

Me too. I would have never seen this before, but now if they release it VOD I will rent it. They are already considering the VOD option per Variety.

In fairness to the good ol' USA, it was Sony, and not the US, that backed down from the threats.

And Sony is run by a bunch of fricking foreigners themselves.

What a joke.

I'm sure a bunch of North Korea soldiers have infiltrated America and are ready to attack thousands of theaters.
