Yes according to the AFA, gay people and abortions are the culprit behind Katrina devastating New Orleans. Genius group funding this prayer rally. Great call by Piyush to have them as his base.

Also, the event is being is financed by the American Family Association, which is classified as a hate group.

Southern Poverty Law Center doesn't have a lot of credibility on that issue. They label any group that does not align to their dogma as a hate group. It won't be long before Koch industries and Chic fil a are hate groups.

Classified by whom as a hate group?

quote:

The Southern Poverty Law Center, in a 2005 report, stated that the AFA, along with other groups, engaged in hate speech to "help drive the religious right's anti-gay crusade."[128] Mark Potok of the SPLC determined that the turning point was 2003's Lawrence v. Texas, in which the Supreme Court struck down Texas's anti-sodomy laws. After that, the Christian right spent millions on advertisements,[128] and on pastor briefings organized by activists such as born-again Christian David Lane.[129] Lane helped AFA put constitutional opposite-sex marriage amendments on the ballots of 13 states.[128]

In November 2010, the SPLC changed their listing of AFA from a group that used hate speech to the more serious one of being designated a hate group. Potok said that the AFA's "propagation of known falsehoods and demonizing propaganda" was the basis for the change.

Afa is so dumb - but here's hoping that Piyush can use this opportunity to exorcize any demons in the PMAC that have been holding back LSU basketball

Thankfully gays stopped being gay for a couple years and spared us a few hurricanes. Thanks, gays. I owe you a drink.

From my understanding people are upset because the prayer rally is being funded by a hate group, they aren't upset because people are praying.

The group is classified as a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has no credibility except among a small number of people on the left side of the ideological spectrum. The SPLC considers just about everyone a hate group.

This isn't true at all. AFA absolutely deserves their classification.

Afa is the worst. Just about the closest any Christian group gets to Islam in terms of dogma and intolerance

Fine put quotation marks around the words "hate group" and my statement remains the same.

Although from what I've read about the AFA, the AbitaFan Law Center would also classify the AFA as a hate group.

Because that's exactly what I said.

Don't you have the MSB to troll? Or are you working the early shift at Chili's today?

So many people on this site get so butt hurt about anything to do with Christians

We get it, you hate Christians, you despise them, you abhor them. We get it. But that doesn't make them a hate group. Why not go after the real hate groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda or neo-nazi groups.

LOL at Jindal obviously pandering to the religious right to further his delusions of eventually running for national office. And partnering with the AFA to boot? Wow, that's rich. Can't wait until that loser moves on to his next pet project.

No but their actions and stance on social issues does

I'm sure if they were holding a rally at the PMAC, people would also protest.
