Per his twitter
quote:

First semester at LSU I have a 2.5 GPA I thank the man upstairs for that accomplishment,Now it's time to prepare for spring ball #Unleashed

I doubt we'll ever get an official word from LSU, but it feels like that they basically decided he was academically ineligible, and if he made grades after the first year they would just forget about his HS transcripts and move on. If we also sign the GA DL from Juco, suddenly our defensive line issues seem like a thing of the past

2.5 is good enough. He's probably struggling with the composition classes.. fairly common with athletes

How much of an impact do y'all think he'll make next season? Will he definitely get in the rotation? I admit I don't know much about him but do know he was pretty hyped up on here earlier this year.

The SEC will just have to see about that.

He knows he should've been playing with his team and is working hard to ensure that he stays eligible. Good on his part.

Will be a beast.

Now lets hope LSU compliance doesn't thoroughly inspect his grades and petition his GPA should be lower.

He will be, and by far, the most typical LSU DLINEMAN that we have on the field once he gets there. He is a Dorsey level talent.

As long as the athletes simply show up to class, they can get no lower than a C.

"In Division I, student-athletes must complete 40 percent of the coursework required for a degree by the end of their second year. They must complete 60 percent by the end of their third year and 80 percent by the end of their fourth year. Student-athletes are allowed five years to graduate while receiving athletically related financial aid. All Division I student-athletes must earn at least six credit hours each term to be eligible for the following term and must meet minimum grade-point average requirements that are related to an institution’s own GPA standards for graduation."

so basically they need a 2.0 and only have to take 6 hours during the football semester and take around 24 hours or less a year
