The mainstream, chamber of commerce, big government, neocon republicans seem to be coming together around Jeb. The big money guys in this group are sort of picking between Romney, Bush and Christie. I think Bush has the upper hand and the other two will see that and stay out.

As it stands today the mainstream is more organized. The rest of the candidates are a hodge podge of also rans that have just enough money to say they are running.

The Huckabees, Pawlenty, Walker, Cruz, Perry crowd should park their egos and sit this one out.

The clearest choice for real change is Paul.

I hope Paul emerges from Iowa as the frontrunner challenger to Bush. We will then have a real debate. Bush will have to move toward Paul in primaries. Paul, if he doesn't screw up, has a message independents will like in the general election. If Bush were, under the pressure of the primaries, to adopt some of Paul's message he too would be more appealing to independents. A libertarian looking republican will certainly have more appeal to Americans IMHO than the usual mainstream republicans.

What I don't want to see is a bunch of also rans moving toward Bush. Bush is going to have a certain block of votes and it's best to just let him have them but I believe the majority of republicans want a real change candidate and none but Paul represent that IMHO. It will be a win/win for the party if Paul and Bush are the front runners in long a primary season IMHO.

(The real outliers in the race, i.e. Jindal, will hopefully get clobbered early.)

Scott Walker, Mike Pence and John Kasich are the three govenors I would like to see begin to make inroads with regard to the 2016 race.

It will be a sad day for America if in November 2016 we must push a button for either a Clinton or a Bush.

I would love to see a primary where Bush and Paul are the front runners. I want to see Rand finish what his father started while at the same time toppling the oligarchy.

^This. I don't want to live in this country if that's the choices I have.

Could very well happen.

All the more reason to discourage the Jindals of the world and encourage Paul.

If all the republicans mentioned as candidates other than Paul does any one issue distinguish one from the other?? No.

It reminds me of 80 except that Reagan was the most organized and put the mainstream guys in the locker room quickly.

I don't know much about Jeb Bush, but neither he nor Hillary could possibly be worse than what we have today.

I'm surprised at how many women seem to hate Hillary's guts.

Hillary made the mary mistake of siding with obama. She is trying to work her way out of it but any competent campaign will tie her to it at every single turn.

I honestly don't see that hurting her enough to make a difference if it's Hilary vs. typical republican. Obama's shine had worn off by the 2012 election, but he still steam rolled Romney.

If it's Rand, all bets are off. I could see Independents and a chunk of self proclaimed dem's flocking to Rand if he makes it out of the primaries.

If Romney runs Bush is out... Romney would suck the life out of any kind of Bush run because it is basically the same money and organization.

Frankly I would not have any problems with Rand, Cruz, and Romney as a top three.

I would hope Walker makes a run just to get presidential campaign experience that could be beneficial if he has that kind of aspiration in the future.

He's suggested he may complete his degree requirements online through the University of Wisconsin's online program. It really shouldn't make a difference. We continue to elect Ivy League dimwits who have no understanding of what it takes to lead. Walker appears to have leadership qualities in spades.

2016 will be choked full of merriment for those of us who watch this stuff. Does obama repay the clintons for Bill's support in 2012 and just how does he display that support? Some would say he would best support hillary by openly supporting someone else.

GOP 2016 slogan "A vote for fill in the blank ia a vote for four more years of obama."

While I would vote for Paul over Bush, I think if they are the two front-runners Bush is the nominee.

Might be a decent way to connect with people too. I'm an elitist, and there are a lot of people like me, but some may see him as a true cross-section of America who is doing what a lot of people are in finishing degrees later in life, pursuing alternative avenues for higher ed, etc.

The Bush brand is so tarnished that I don't see anyone in their right mind putting any serious money behind Jeb.

I read just last week that the big money is starting to side with Hillary and Jeb, in that order.

Big money is going to back a special interest sellout on both sides so they can win either way.

Hence Hillary and Jeb.

Warren and Rand are big corporations worst nightmares

It won't come down to one vs. one. It's a gradual whittling down starting with a dozen or so. The decision could be made when there are 4 left standing. One is clearly in the lead, the other 3 quickly lose all support. Race is over.

I would like to see Walker on stage with some good support. He and Rand Paul are my two favorites. I believe he could bring an aspect of having been Governor that Rand can't, at this point.
