That is simply not true, he has not been a commit for 2 months to Alabama.

He camped at Alabama and was very impressive, he pushed the coaches for an offer then. Alabama told him they wanted to see him play a few games before offering.

He scheduled a visit to Alabama for the USM game on Sept. 13 expecting an offer, and received a verbal offer but was slow played.

Alabama was confident of getting a commit from the kid anytime since summer camp, and wanted him in the class when he visited on Sept. 13th, the hold up to Alabama taking a commit at that point was the fear of Ole Miss doing whatever they near the end with Mississippi kids and him flopping to Ole Miss, leaving us scrambling for a replacement, or falling short on OT's.

Ole Miss has beat us at the end for quite a few kids the last few years who had told the staff they were Alabama bound or committed, and Saban wasn't going to let it happen again.

What the fuq do you know about Capone? Gumps are just ridiculous.

And there are still LSU fans out there who insist that we have to root for any SEC school that is playing for a National Championship.

The reason is that "It is good for the Conference" and therefore good for LSU.

If you don't think that the success of other SEC schools doesn't influence activity like this you are delusional.

May I punch a couple of holes in that? How do you explain Andy Dodd the OL switching from Alabama to LSU in 2013 class? His offer wasn't pulled. How do you explain Charlot the WRer this class who may very switch from Alabama to LSU? And you realize right that Alabama has had some decommits already?

Great examples. And I'm not saying that you're wrong or that I'm right.

I'm saying exactly what I said...

"Could recruits be seeing Bama (who is currently on a FOUR game winning streak with a couple of NCs mixed in) as a superior program over LSU?"

As a fan, of course WE don't see it. But as a recruit who is looking to make his biggest decision ever, that is hard to ignore.

You know of course that Alabama WAS on a 3 game losing streak vs ranked teams during last season/this season right...Auburn last year, OU in the bowl game, Ole Miss this year. Please inform me the last time under Les Miles that LSU lost 3 consecutive games to ranked teams like Alabama recently did. We can go back and forth on streaks all day long. As far as Alabama and their success, you honestly think a kid's highest priority is to play for a national championship? Psst, their highest priority is NOT that, NOT to graduate necessarily, but instead to make to the pros. I'm talking about the stud guys BTW, not the guys who heavily consider Vandy or Stanford or Harvard. They are the REAL student-athletes as we all know.

I will never, ever pull for or hope for Alabama or Ole Miss to win any game.

You've made great points. BUT...this is the first annual college football playoff. Who will the recruits see playing in it? That's all I'm saying.

Oregon lost in the last few minutes to Auburn 4 seasons ago....the NC game played in 2011. I randomly picked Oregon because they are recent and also not in the SEC. Here are the 24/7 final recruiting rankings of Oregon

2010 - 13th in recruiting
2011 - 11th in recruiting played in NC game previous month
2012 - 13th in recruiting
2013 - 19th in recruiting

OK, I don't see a lot of difference do you?

Oregon isn't really a threat to come into Louisiana and get the kids that we want. Alabama on the other hand is.

Actually, Oregon has recruited some of the same players LSU has...remember Lache Seastrunk the 5* RB from TX. And don't be surprised if Oregon signs Kirk Merritt in this class from LA. So yeah, Oregon has gone head to head with some kids that LSU offered. Your point was supposed to be that playing in the NC game made a difference. I just dispute that and gave you an example.

Playing in A national championship game isn't. But 3 of the last 5, and potentially 4 of the last 6 if they make it this year, plus a 4 game head to head winning streak...there's no way you can tell me that doesn't matter.

My point is not to convince you....I really don't care if I did that or not. My point was to show an example that debunks your theory. I just did...not to mention the players I quoted earlier that DEcommitted from Alabama, some switching to LSU (Dodd and soon to be Charlot). Your theory is hogwash IMO! Oh, and once again, you keep bringing up streaks. Alabama just had a 3 game losing streak against ranked teams that ended this season. I challenged you to find the last time that happened to Les Miles....{crickets}

Lol and I agree with that.

But all of those types of things go into the process. It's no different than Kentucky basketball. Coach Cal, like him or not can practically go into any kid's living room and get that kid. Same thing.

Guy, how completely ignorant and biased are you? That is the typical crapola that a lot of kids say to cover their arse. Hey dummy, where is the Toshiro Davis quote "the morale with the LSU players is horrible so I felt like Texas was the much better place to me."

Seriously guy, I believe you would be interested in buying swampland from me. I own a lot of it in Florida. To quote Landon Collins and Cameron Robinson is downright ridiculous. Hey Einstein, did you talk to Kwon Alexander...an Alabama player that Alabama wanted badly and LSU got him. Or Dodd that flipped from Alabama to LSU...or Charlot who will do the same. Dude, get a clue and quit posting Gump propadanda here!

100% correct! That is why I cut coaches a little slack on last minute greyshirt offers (remember Elliot Porter's recruitment). Fortunately, most prospects word is worth something...but yeah, the ones we remember are the Janzen Jacksons...the Torshiro Davis...the Parish Cox....the Gunner Kiels...etc. And to be fair, LSU gets their share of last minute flips also. What is especially shameful is that the family and player many times doesn't even have the guts and class to take the blame on themselves. They simply made up excuses.

Typical. Start hurling insults when you can no longer talk with intelligence. Have a good day sir. We have nothing else to discuss.

Just bc they lived in the state of Louisiana doesn't make them "hometown kids." A lot of players do not grow up fans of their home state team. Their families aren't LSU season ticket holders. Exceptions would be legacies like Eric Reid and OBJ. Not to take anything away from Saban's ability to recruit, but it's not like he's walking into living rooms where there are LSU banners hanging from the roof. The fact is Bama is close enough to home and can offer the same things that LSU can, and with the copious amount of talent in Louisiana, yea we're going to lose a few elite players every year. So go back to rocking the trailer with your 1st cousin 9-6.
