it's because part of his secret deal with Tallahassee police is he can't leave the state unless it is for a FSU football game.

“You see the toll it takes on the kid,” Fisher said. “Just the travel, from here to here to here. You’re speaking and doing that and it’s fun, but you’ve got be respectful and you’ve got spend your time and you can’t slight anyone in any way, shape or form. And I think it can be a wearing procedure on guys and it’s very tough."

Sounds like Jameis had a tough go of the circuit tour last year. Tough to be respectful and not slight anyone.

Jimbo has too much bonus money riding on the playoffs to let Jameis run wild on the circuit.

His contract at LSU will pay him just fine.

He's not a finalist...not a big deal.

He also doesn't respect the tradition of the award and go as a past winner.

This. If he showed up people here would be calling him an attention whore.

He's too busy prepping how he's going to drag his nuts all over OSU's D in the championship game

Past winners miss it every year. Not that big of a deal

Why would he go?

He's busy and not nominated. If he was nominated he'd be there.

If anything this is an improvement on previous behavior

The way Jimbo defends this kid like an infant just creeps me out

LOL, whatever. People were going to tear him down regardless of what decision he made. If he went then he's not a team player and should be concentrating on preparing for the playoffs, or he's just trying to steal the spotlight.

Not to mention there are plenty of past awardees that don't go.

Didn't Mark Ingram went to 2010 Heisman ceremony?
