Ok, I'll edit, but you probably won't so it won't do much good.

Past winners miss it every year. Not that big of a deal

Name one time in which the most recent Heisman winner while still eligible and in school didn't show up at the ceremony the following year.

SR Archie Griffin (1975) - Nope, WON
SR Ty Detmer (1991) - Still recovering from getting obliterated by A&M
SR Jason White (2004) - Nope, finalist
SR Matt Leinart (2005) - Nope, finalist
JR Tim Tebow (2008) - Nope, finalist
SR Tim Tebow (2009) - Nope, finalist
JR Mark Ingram (2010) - I think he was there
RSSO Johnny Manziel (2013) - Nope, finalist

Why would he go? Just to sit in the crowd and smile? frick that.

It blows my mind that people will actually think negatively about him because of this.

ETA: The more I think about it, I'm not shocked at all. People love to hate. They get irked at the dumbest shite.

I can't stand JW or FSU and have no problem with this. He's got the rest of his life to go to these events.

These are the only two which are relevant and neither had a championship game waiting.

Ingram was there

Don't have a choice in the NFL. What do you think NFL players would do if given the option to skip media events?
