I agree but you'd have to think Melo recognizes the talent that is AD and with his help, Melo could change his entire legacy by getting past the first round and potentially much more.

Melo would have to have a complete change of personality. I don't see it happening. Although, putting everything aside, including money, it would be fun to see him on this team.

Melo has been on a team with some decent talent, in the shitty East and has nothing to show for it since he's been there.

In 2013 they were the 2 seed, won 59 games and almost made the ECF.

That roster is horrible. He made the WCF in Denver and can win with some help. He's not Lebron or anything, but he's still a good player that can win in the right situation.

Melo and his wife are all about huge markets for her "career". There's no way they'd be happy here.

A team of Jrue/SG/melo/Ad/Asik could do things.

Just fun to think about as unrealistic as it may be.

I'd take Hardaway if he'll play D.

Exactly. And if Melo, after 10 years in the league with little to show for it, continues to let his wife who's not even relevant (while being in NY) choose his team, I wouldn't want him.

People act like New Orleans is freakin Minnesota or Utah. Her ugly arse can be just as irrelevant here.

With his trade kicker he will make like 28 million next year.

F that.

4 years in the East, and they ALMOST made the ECF (if losing 2-4 is almost winning the series...). Yeah, not impressed.

I wouldn't say they've had the best roster, but I also wouldn't say their roster has been horrible. They've just had some really bad contracts, but they've had some decent players.

What situation is that? After 11 years in the league, 2 different teams, two different conferences, 4 different Head Coaches, we have yet to see it.

He's not going to win in that dumpster fire in LA.

I'd hope he's smart enough to understand that.

Would you rather take your chances with AD+Jrue or with that dumpster fire in LA?

Answer to that is obvious.

Are you talking about a championship? You can say that about almost every superstar in the league right now. He made it to the WCF in Denver, which is further than a guy like Chris Paul has gotten.

I'm not saying he's a top 5 player or anything, but to act like the dude isn't a good basketball player is dumb.

Maybe?

Gets rid of Reke and get Hardaway. Plus NY is able to dump Bargnani and get rid of someone who's clashing with their star.

That is something a local would say. Someone from Brooklyn probably thinks it's nothing but gator chootin, pit bulls running wild all over, and pawn shops every where. If there was a Real Housewives New Orleans we might have a shot, but that's not the direction Hollywood wanted to go when exploiting us.

Not necessarily, but more than one Conference finals appearance in 11 years would be a good start.

True, but it's hard to argue that Chris Paul isn't a better team player than Melo.

I've never said that, in fact, this was part of my first statement in this thread

"Basketball, like any team sport, is about fit as much, if not more, than talent alone."

Obviously the dude is talented, but I just don't think he fits well on or off the court here. Just my opinion.

It's really a damn shame that's what we've been portrayed as exculsively.

I'm tired of the stereotype.

Melo has played 2 ASG in NOLA fwiw. Lala was down here soaking it in. I ran into her at Chris Owen's place on Bourbon and she said she was loving the city

I remember they shot or were taking about doing this back in 08/09. Would have featured CP3's wife/girlfriend and Wests wife, IIRC.

Dude is the antithesis of what you build a team around. He will never sniff a title unless he's an aging bench player.

Sad to say but you are spot on with this. We deal with alot of people on the east coast and they think I'm a redneck. I grew up in midcity, i can assure that is not the case.
