Report: Gedion Zelalem nearing United States citizenship

This isn't really news though. It's the promise that soon there will be news about his citizenship. The process is going well and must be completed by January 26th, so in that sense we know that if he is to get citizenship, it must happen relatively soon.

Kind of vague, and definitely didn't say "Gedion Zelalem nearing US citizenship," although if we cross our fingers and hope for the best, I guess we can infer that he's getting it soon. But it's not as if this is a direct claim of some official report.

They have, and he turned them down. For the U-19 European championships or some shite.

I'll feel great when I see him on the field wearing the stars and stripes, but until then... meh.
