They're pissed that the Big 12 didn't fight for them to receive a playoff spot even though they beat TCU head-to-head and according to Big 12 bylaws actually won the conference outright.

Anyone else hearing this rumor?

LOL sports radio.

And according to their bylaws, co-champions is correct.

I thought their bylaws said head-to-head determines a winner in a tie breaker situation.

Are they going to schedule tougher in a new conference?

To be fair, I did hear it as a "rumor" on sports radio. A rumor is only a rumor.

However, if you read the articles written about Baylor in recent days more than a few indicate that Briles and Baylor are absolutely pissed about how things played out this year.

They have a reason to be pissed.

If Florida State at one point in time entertained the possibility of joining the Big 12...it's not too far fetched that the ACC would strengthen itself with a program like Baylor.

The articles I read implied that it was beyond the conference commissioner's control to name Baylor as champion based on the by-laws. That's why Briles was pissed about the "one true champion" bulls**t. But I don't know I haven't read the bylaws.

Yes, the SEC is that way in all sports except football. A couple years ago SC was co-SEC East champs in basketball with UT although we got hammered by UT not once by twice.

SC also shared a baseball SEC title with Vandy AND UF even though we beat both 2/3.

Irrelevant to Baylor but the SEC has the same rules in its other sports.

this, plus Baylor would die if it didn't play any Texas schools on a regular basis...of course, Texas A&M could schedule them as a OOC game.

And to think just 3 years ago Baylor was threatening to sue Texas A&M over its decision to depart the Big XII for the SEC.

I don't think Missouri is tied down to other in state schools like Baylor is. Wouldn't consider Mizzou's move to be stranger than this rumored move by Baylor. And all Boise State is doing is jumping from the best non P5 conference to the other. How is that strange?

Maryland says hello. Changing conferences was big enough for them to just pay the buyout.

wtf. haven't heard anything about this.

Briles has inferred that the Big12 has screwed us over in the past over things, although no one is quite sure what he is referring to.

The truth is we are a small school with a small fanbase. We don't have much of a say and we never really will because we don't have the student population, fanbase, alumni, and $$$ that other schools have.

I would be shocked if we ever left the Big 12 on our own.
