The Grant of Rights is not a complete bar. If Texas wants to go, they'll go. and if they find a home for half of the league's members, really, it will be left to just a few schools to sue. And if they get offers to other conferences, that will mitigate their damages.

Texas' BEST case then is bolting with the four, taking care of TCU and Baylor by getting them in the SEC, Kansas to the Big 10, and WVU to the ACC. That would only leave them with two schools (KSU and ISU) to pay, split amongst eight schools who would all be in breach.

I may be suffering from a lack of vision because I can't see how in the world the SEC would be interested in TCU and/or Baylor. Kansas COULD go to the Big 10 but that would be a 180 from their prior assertions of loyalty to KSU after MU bolted for the SEC. WVU to the ACC makes more geographical sense but raises other difficulties (who else to add, how to manage the divisions?) that make this seem like a long shot as well.

Essentially Texas already had this option in some respect anyway when there was talk of Texas, OU, and two tag alongs going to the PAC - but they passed on that option apparently because of the LHN profit sharing issues. The larger likelihood seems like for the length of the GOR and the LHN contract Texas has to want to lose money they could be making to jump ship. Seems unlikely. It also seems like they unwittingly tied themselves into a leaky rowboat for a conference while the SEC and Big 10 continue to grow their brands.

It was such a specific thing you can't name the hosts, the show, or even the station?

Again, where did you here this? Simply saying "sports radio" is not a legitimate answer.

Well if I had a vote, which I unfortunately do not, I'd kick TAMU, Arkansas, Mizzou, and SCar out of the SEC and reform the Southwestern Conference and the Big 8.

If Baylor thinks their interests aren't being represented by the Big 12, just wait until they get an inside look at the North Carolina cabal that controls the ACC. They'll be lucky to have one player named to an All-ACC team in ten years.

Isn't it kind of funny that a school like 1000 miles from the nearest point of the Atlantic ocean might join the Atlantic Coast Conference?

that is rather amusing...however from a SEC perspective we don't need any more Texas schools in the conference...

any future expansion should focus on North Carolina and Virginia which will open up a far larger media market than Texas will...(when you throw the Baltimore-DC metroplex into the equation)
