Man on man...turned down for Duke.

FOR DUKE!

How times have changed. This has got to be the low point for Michigan football.

This is total BS.

Michigan is waiting for JH. So far, JH has not decided yet. He is leaning to Michigan but who knows what will happen when 49ers season is over. He may get fired this weekend after seahawks game. Or 49ers may keep him and try to trade him. But he will block those trades.

Only when he have signed with M, M will know they really get JH.

At the same time, Michigan has 14 coach pool. The hiring firm is checking these coaches.

Looks like the Duke coach will get a raise soon.

These coaches and agents always play this game to squeeze more money from their school.

My guess is that they asked if he would interview, and he declined. Dude is happy at Duke with low expecations. You don't offer a guy like Cutcliffe without an interview.

This is 100% opposite from what I am hearing and reading.

Zero chance that he was actually "offered their job".

Most likely just gauging interest.

No way they offered him the job. I do think they may have gauged interest?

Even if this is just working their way through the list, the Michigan rebuild is gonna require a younger HC's energy, stamina, and patience, to build it back up.

That their powers-that-be would consider Cut, doesn't signify Mich AD smarts nor touch with their reality imho. Great HC but not a Mich/Big-10 fit. Cut has health issues, comes off slightly older than actual age, is inherently southern, and not of the right drawl, persona,etc..

Too caught up on character man, Michigan man,etc..mantras, rather than right fit imho.

Michigan rebuilding job is not that big. Hoke recuitted very well. They need a QB.

The schedule is not tough. With reasonable good coach, Michigan can easily win 9 games this year.

ND, MSU, OSU maybe loss. The other 9 games are winnable.

I agree, it will not take but two to three years for UM to contend with OSU and Wisc in Big-10. But, the race to get back with playing with SEC's yearly best, Oreg, FSU,etc..in challenging for Natty Hardware, further away than that..despite OSU being in Final 4 this year.

Gil Brandt is throwing some shite at the wall on this one.

Cutcliffe was not offered the job. It's that simple.

Really? Why should someone believe you instead of Brandt?

I will reserve judgement on this until we get a tweet confirming it from Tex Schramm
