David Luke in Breaux Bridge/Henderson just a few miles off i10. He is a master at all birds, but does a really amazing job on wood ducks.
A visit to his studio is a must for any waterfowler in the area as well.

Will second the recommendations for Dave Luke. Does exceptional work and that studio is amazing. He's done work that is displayed at the Smithsonian. That's good enough for me...

Buckhorn in Eunice. Most prob $350-400.

Fold the neck under a wing and put it in a ziplock, place in freezer.

David Luke but be very clear, specific, and repetitive in telling him exactly what you want and how you want. He's done my last 3 birds in a position other than the position I asked for. Keep going back because I love his work but he often does what he wants unless you make him write it down. Give him a pic as an example.

Guy Adams is great, a really cool game warden, he has done a couple of my deer, and if all goes well my moose next year

David luke is the real deal. My dad has some birds hanging up that are 25 years old and still look like they were mounted this year. I refuse to bring birds to another taxidermist. He isnt the cheapest or the fastest, but the best quality mount you will see
